The Viking 52 Open is a 53-foot open express sportfishing yacht that was originally launched by the renowned New Jersey-based yacht building firm in 2006 and then relaunched with a makeover in 2014. A popular choice with those who enjoy tournament fishing or other water-based activities, the 52 Open is also a great option for weekend cruising thanks to its stylish lounge spaces, overnight accommodation, and a super sleek profile.

This vessel can be kitted out with a bespoke tuna tower from Viking subsidiary Palm Beach Towers turn to this into the ultimate fish-fighting machine. But should you forego the tower then there is still plenty of fine-tuned fishing space on here, not least in the 142-square foot aft-cockpit. This teak-lined space boasts a transom door and lift-gate, a transom livewell, recessed fish boxes, hidden storage units, bait coolers, flush rod holders, Miya Epoch teaser reels and a freezer. There is also room out here for a pair of mezzanine side sofas, not to mention a floor plate for the installation of a rocket launcher or fighting chair.
The command deck on the 52 Open benefits from extensive side glazing, an open aspect to the rear and water-proof surfaces for a light and breezy feel. To starboard there is a leather dining sofa surrounding a glossy teak Hi-Lo dining table, while to port you will find on-deck drinks coolers, a freezer and wet-bar facilities such as an Eskimo icemaker. At the front of the command deck there are a pair of helm chairs and a helm sofa facing an Atlantic Marine Electronics dashboard hosting power-steering and all the instrumentation and displays needed to pilot your yacht to tuna-rich waters.
Below-deck there is a port-side kitchen galley with Corian worktops, under-counter refrigeration, a large sink and all the appliances needed to rustle up gourmet meals for the whole family. The rest of the lower-deck space can be arranged across a 2 or 3 stateroom layout, depending on whether you require space for a lower-deck lounge with an L-shaped sofa. The most impressive cabin down here is undoubtedly the master stateroom nestled up toward the bow that comes with a double bed, carpeted floors and maple-lined closets. There is the option to kit out this lower deck space with one or two bathrooms each with a fiberglass shower cubicle.
This yacht comes with a pair of MAN V8 1000MHP twin engines as standard, though there is the option to upgrade to a pair of MAN V12 1400MHP diesels with top speeds of up to 40 knots and cruising speeds of around 34 knots. The proprietary Viking hull on the 52 Open is constructed out of durable DuPont Kevlar and lightweight knitted fiberglass, and features an aggressive entry, molded strakes and a 12-degree transom deadrise for plenty of lift and superb balance on the turn.
