The Viking 62C is a 63-foot convertible sportfishing yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the New Jersey-based shipyard in 2014. Combining tournament-ready fishing credentials with the sort of spaciousness and amenity families love, the 62C is an ever-popular mid-sized yacht that can be used to chase marlins or just for weekend cruising. And for the anglers that don't let cold weather stop them from fishing, the Viking 62 Enclosed Bridge is a perfect option for a mid-sized sport fishing boat.
The flybridge on this model comes with a fiberglass hard-top, a Costa Clear removable windshield and Viking’s signature walk-around central helm station for superb piloting whatever the weather. The helm comes with a polished teak wheel pod, SeaStar Optimus power-steering, recessed navigational equipment installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics, Garmin instrumentation, thruster controls and three teak-and-leather Release Marine or Stidd helm chairs. There is also room up here for two upholstered chaise-longues fitted against the sides of the bridge, a forward-facing loveseat and impromptu wet-bar facilities such as a freezer, drinks cooler and sink. The flybridge can also be fitted with a sturdy overhead tuna tower from Viking subsidiary Palm Beach Towers for elevated fishing adventures.
One level down and you will discover a 172-square foot cockpit lined in teak that has been expertly designed by experienced tournament fishermen to provide the ultimate sport fishing experience. Tackle drawers, flush rod holders, a transom door with a lifting gate, storage lockers, a live-well, a rear fish box, a floor plate for a fighting chair and wash down hoses are just some of the pieces of kit you will find installed as standard out here. The aft cockpit also comes with a spacious mezzanine sofa for up to 3 guests, as well as integral stereo speakers so that you can soundtrack your own pelagic pursuits.
The Viking 62C boasts a beam almost 19-feet wide, and you can really feel the extra space when stepping indoors. The internal salon features glossy walnut surrounds, plush leather furnishings, fine carpeting and plenty of seating space. To the rear is a port-side L-shaped sofa with a centerpiece coffee table, while to starboard there is curved cabinetry and room for an HD TV. Located at the front of the salon there is a starboard dining sofa with a Hi-Lo breakfast table, and to port the walk-in galley kitchen. The galley features a raised serving bar with a pair of stools, solid worktops in a range of authentic materials, a four-zone hob, a combination oven and a fridge. Lower-deck space takes advantage of the ample dimensions by fitting in four cabins, including a pair of starboard single berths, an en suite double towards the bow and a port-side master stateroom with a queen-sized bed, maple-lined hanging closets and a large en suite with a shower. There is also a day-head bathroom with a shower down here that is used by the single rooms. If anyone knows how to design performance-ready sportfishing yachts, it's the Viking Yacht Company.
This yacht has the option of utilizing a few different engines, from a pair of MAN V12 1550MHP engines, through CAT C32Bs, to the top of the range MTU 2000 M96X V12s. Should you choose the MTU twins, you will expect to find top speeds breaking the 42-knot barrier, while cruising speeds of 36 knots offer comfortable and consistent movement. A Seakeeper stabilization system keeps this yacht well balanced as you wait around for a bite, while a proprietary Viking hull proves dry and efficient as it powers through the waves.
