History of Ferretti Yachts
In 1968 is when Ferretti Yachts set sail. Brothers, Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti, created the first nautical division of the family business other than a luxury car. Three years later in 1971, their first model, a wooden motor sailer was greeted with such praise at the Genoa Boat Show. This yacht was 10-metres, equipped with an engine as well as a sail and was peculiarly comfortable and very safe for leisure cruising. As four years goes by, in 1975, the Ferretti Brothers decided to abandon cars altogether and commit to themselves fully in the nautical world of yachting. They also began to make the decision on switching from sail to engine power, full time. In 1982, the first Ferretti motor yacht made its debut and the company quickly began creating boats for sport fishing. With an open and flying bridge, this began the extensive changes that have transformed today’s boat building industry. The 90’s were solely dedicated to research and development for nautical engineering. In-house engineering and winning performances in offshore races were also a huge milestone for the Ferretti’s in the 1990’s. The range of yacht development for Ferretti Yachts has only increased and is continuing to evolve till this day.
