The Viking 44SC is a 45-foot sport coupe fishing yacht that was launched by the New Jersey-based yacht building firm in 2019. Sharing many characteristics with the 44 Convertible and 44 Open, including an identical hull with a superfine entry, the 44SC differentiates itself from its sister yachts thanks to a Great Lakes-style hardtop deckhouse and a unique deck layout. The 44SC can also be fitted with a Palm Beach tuna tower to turn it into the 44ST, the ideal vessel for sailfish anglers.
The 119-square foot aft-cockpit on this model has been fine-tuned by tournament fishermen to create one of the most practical fishing decks ever seen. The cockpit comes with a transom door and lift gate, a livewell, fish-boxes, flush rod holders, tackle trays, fresh and salt-water hoses and a floor plate for a fighting chair or rocket launcher. The cockpit also hosts a mezzanine-level three-seater leather sofa with cup-holders and a chilled drinks cabinet, as well as floor access to an optional Seakeeper gyrostabilizer for reduced roll.
The bold lines of the fiberglass deckhouse module cut a striking profile and provide the perfect all-weather space to both relax with friends and pilot your vessel without having to worry about wet conditions outside. Wrap-around windows to the front and sides are complemented by panoramic Costa Clear glazing and an open door frame to the rear for an effortlessly minimalist and breezy feel. To starboard you will find an L-shaped sofa tracing the rear of the deckhouse and surrounding an angled breakfast table crafted out of glossy teak. To starboard, meanwhile, you will discover fiberglass storage space and a full set of wet bar amenities for the mixing of your favorite cocktails. At the front of the command deck sit three helm chairs facing a helm station with instrumentation installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics. The dashboard boasts an array of touchscreen display panels from Garmin, ZF electronic controls, bow thrusters and power steering mounted on a teak helm pod.
Below deck accommodation on the Viking 44SC is accessed via a sliding companionway door that brings you down to a full-beam galley and lounge area some 16-foot, 4-inches wide. The galley features Corian counters, an electric hob, a combination microwave-oven, under-counter fridge-freezer units, teak cabinetry and a large sink. The dinette lounge, meanwhile, hosts an L-shaped sofa and a dining table, and benefits from an integral stereo system and a 24-inch flat screen HD TV. The double master stateroom is large enough for a queen-sized island bed with hidden storage, a maple-lined hanging locker and access to a main head with a shower cubicle.
The 44SC and 44ST alike both come with a range of engine choices, from a pair of MAN i6 shaft-drives to twin Volvo D13 Penta 1000MHP engines. Top speeds on this vessel max out at around 35 knots, with comfortable cruising speeds of around 30 knots.
