Your main base of operations if heading to Stevensville is likely to be the Bay Bridge Marina, one of the region’s most impressive facilities. Sitting in the shadows of the iconic Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the marina sits in a vast artificial harbor with 243 floating slips for boats up to 130-feet in length. A full-service destination with repairs and refueling available, the facility is also close to a number of amenities designed to enhance your experience, including popular seafood restaurant Libby’s Coastal Kitchen and the upscale but family-friendly Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. The marina is also practically next door to the Bay Bridge Airport, meaning boaters can fly into town and be out on their boat within minutes of landing.
There are also dozens of private jetties and a number of public boat ramps positioned in town, but for an alternative full-service option head south to find the scenic Kentmorr Marina, another facility facing the Bay with 100 slips for boats up to 55-feet in length. To the northern edge of the city, meanwhile, there’s the Cloverfield Boat Basin, a marina specializing in small boats which faces the broad mouth of the Chester River where it drifts into Chesapeake Bay.
Just outside the city limits to the East, in salubrious Chester, there’s the Castle Marina, a vast facility in a pair of artificial basins that boasts 340 wet-slips, servicing options, a fuel dock, a marine store, chartering and on-site club facilities like a restaurant. Just south of here, perched on the edge of Crab Alley Bay, there’s a further set of linked marinas including the Island View Marina, the Crab Alley Marina, the Blue Heron Marina and L.A. Thompson and Sons, a working yard with wet and dry storage. Added together these four facilities boast over 195 wet-slips between them and superb access to creeks, bays, islands and the scenic Eastern Bay.
