The Princess shipyard has made a number of bold statements in the past few years with the launch of the X95 Super Flybridge, among other eye-catching models. And while these trend-setting yachts are keeping Princess in the news, it's the 50'-70' range that is keeping the order books full. Princess Yachts are among the elite when it comes to building luxury flybridge boats, particularly in this popular market segment.
"The Princess F-class range is the bread-and-butter model class for the brand," says Jay Hendrix, Vice President of SI Yachts. "Princess has absolutely hit a homerun with the new F65. It replaces the F62 which was always a highly sought after model, but it also brings with it more volume, a larger flybridge deck, but also a fourth cabin."
While the price of the Princess F65 may vary depending on engine options, equipment chosen, and how far in advance its ordered, the price of a previously tested boat with the 1200hp engines was over $4 million. The F65 is already on pace to be one of the most popular new models in North America, with a record number of hulls pre sold.
The flybridge deck (seen below) is wider and more voluminous than the F65's predecessor. It also features some incredible sun pads with adjustable back rests that can be configured for the perfect seating to enjoy the panoramic view. Other features include a fully-equipped helm station, teak dining table with removable leaf, a wet bar, and a factory hardtop with sunroof.
The aft cockpit (below) seating is a comfortable, welcoming place for afternoon cocktails and hors d'oeuvres that offers some shade thanks to the flybridge overhang. Two staircases lead you from the cockpit down to the teak, electro-hydraulic bathing platform which provides a wonderful sea-side seating area or a great launch point for snorkeling.
The salon of the Princess F65 (Seen below) is bathed in natural light from numerous picture-sized windows that line the main deck. Owners building their own F65 have a choice of wood colors including Alba Oak, Rovere Oak. Silver Oak, and Walnut. The galley is farthest aft and features the cockpit window that raises, allowing easy serving of guests on the aft deck.
The F65 has a layout that comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 spacious, lovely cabins, as well as a captain's quarters with private head. The owner's cabin (seen below) has a large double berth with drawers underneath and two bedside tables. Also included are a sofa, dressing table, storage lockers, a 43" TV, walk-through wardrobe area, and an en suite head.
