The Prestige M8 Redefines The Art de Vivre

"Mangez bien, riez souvent, aimez beaucoup" is a French saying that means 'Eat well, laugh often, love abundantly', or in other words, Carpe Diem! It's clear by the design of the new power catamaran series by Prestige Yachts, that the French builder is aiming to enhance your 'Art de Vivre', or the Art of Life, a saying that is being by the shipyard to describe their latest model range. To the French, art de vivre is more than just a saying, but a way of seeing the world that encourages you to enjoy the simple pleasures. And what better yacht to do this with than the new M8, a perfect reflection of this lifestyle and philosophy.

"We often describe Prestige Yachts as sophisticated luxury homes on the water," said Jay Hendrix, Vice President of SI Yachts. "It's clear that the new M-line takes that concept to an entirely new level with the incredible volume of space found on board. The sizeable beam creates the perfect platform to eat well and laugh often."

The new Prestige M8 will make its debut at the 2023 Cannes Yachting Festival and it sure to be every bit as exciting as the premier of Prestige's first catamaran model, the M48. So what makes the Prestige M8 different than the other power catamarans on the market? "The new Prestige represents a concentration of innovations," says designer Camillo Garroni of Garroni Design. "Contemporary lines, the innovative hull and layouts place this new product at the top of the multi-hull category. Exterior lines have been designed to reflect the bold, distinctive, contemporary personality."

Prestige made a concerted effort to ensure that there was no reference in the design to the Jeanneau-built sailing catamarans. The Prestige M-series is a true power catamaran from bow to stern.

"Innovative layouts include all the key features that have made the Prestige brand a worldwide reference," continued Camillo. "(This includes) an owner's suite with private access, 360-degree visibility, bright, spacious interiors. These elements combine with elegance and a whispered luxury, perceptible from the moment you step on boat our new yacht. A true villa on the sea, this model is conceived to optimize the experience of the owner, his family, and guests."

The foredeck of the M8 is on two levels, allowing your guests on the massive, almost-full-beam sunpad to have slightly elevated views of the ocean while soaking in the sun. A step down to the most forward part of the foredeck is a comfortable seating area consisting of a large sofa and facing loveseat. This is a wonderful area to sit and enjoy a cocktail while at anchor or during a slow cruise.

The spacious aft deck is a focal point of outdoor relaxation and conversation, with beautiful ocean views, shade from the flybridge overhang, and moveable furniture that allows you to create the perfect set-up for your guests. With both sliding doors open and the galley access window raised, the aft deck becomes an outside extension of the massive salon.

The portside staircase on the aft deck leads you to an incredibly large flybridge deck with sofas, chairs, a dining table for 8, outdoor wet-bar, upper helm with loveseat, and the factory hardtop with sunroof. The furniture is free-standing like on the aft deck, allowing you and your guests to move them around. Most noticeable, however, is the amount of empty space you are left with to easily maneuver around.

It doesn't matter what area of the boat you're in on the M8, the word 'space' can be used to describe the advantages over a monohull. In no place is this more evident than in the salon, which measure more than 500 square feet of room. Open the sliding patio doors and the starboard side floor-to-ceiling window and let the sea breeze flow through. The salon and seating area is aft, while the dining table for 8 guests, galley, and interior helm station are forward. If you plan to purchase the M8 for charter, there is also an alternate layout option that places the galley down with an extra cabin for crew.

The owner's version of the Prestige M8 features a full beam master cabin placed forward, with an additional four guest cabins each with their own en suite head. There are multiple layout versions depending on your plans including converting one of the guest cabins to a sitting area below deck, or the galley down option. The master cabin is massive and includes a large center berth, sitting area, large bathroom with his-and-hers sinks, and plenty of storage. The crew cabins are placed in the forward most part of the hulls, each with its en suite head.
