The New Princess Yachts V50 Makes Its Way To New York

There are boats that are practical in design and make a lasting impression, then there are boats that make you stop mid-sentence while standing on the dock. The Princess Yachts V50 does both. On June 26th, a brand-new 2027 Princess V50 is scheduled to arrive at SI Yachts in Montauk and will be available for private showings through the beginning of July. For serious yacht buyers spending their summer cruising around the Hamptons, Long Island, Connecticut, and the Northeast, this is an opportunity to step aboard one of the most compelling luxury sports yachts in the 50-foot class.

The setting could hardly be more fitting. SI Yachts’ Montauk office is located at the Montauk Yacht Club, 32 Star Island Road, placing this new Princess in one of the East End’s most iconic summer boating destinations.

SI Yachts is your Princess Yachts dealer for the Northeast and one of the largest in North America. To schedule your private appointment to step on board, please contact us by emailing Sales@SIYachts.com, fill out the form on this page, or call our office at (631) 668-2029.

First Impression: The V50 Looks Fast Before It Moves

The Princess V50 has the kind of profile that instantly communicates intent. Low, long, and cleanly drawn, it wears its performance credentials effortlessly. The sweeping hardtop, elongated windows, and dramatic hull lines give this express cruiser a sense of motion, even when at anchor. The sleek exterior styling and extended full-length window graphics immediately make the V50 recognizable as part of the Princess V-Class range.

What separates the V50 from many express-style yachts is that it does not rely on aggression alone. Some 50-foot sports yachts are all angles and attitude. The Princess is more measured. It has the confidence of a yacht from a builder that understands proportion: enough glass to make the profile modern, enough freeboard to create real accommodation below, and enough restraint to keep it timeless.

That matters. The V50 is not simply a pretty shape for a summer afternoon. It is designed to be used from morning coffee in Montauk to sunset cocktails in Sag Harbor, from a fast run to Block Island to an overnight escape with friends. In magazine-review terms, this is where the V50 begins to distinguish itself: it understands the difference between a day boat that can sleep aboard and a proper express yacht that can also entertain like a day boat.

Why the V50 Works So Well For The Northeast

Cruising the Northeast in the Summer, on the right boat, is an incredibly rewarding experience. The harbor is full of boats with friendly people, the offshore bite is on fire, and the cruising grounds invite variety. One weekend might mean a quiet raft-up, the next a lunch run, the following week a longer hop east or across the Sound. A yacht in this market needs to be elegant, but it also needs to be capable and comfortable.

The V50’s size is a sweet spot. At 52-feet 7-inches overall with a 13-foot 4-inch beam, measurements the provide a stable, dry ride without sacrificing interior comfort. The draft is listed at 3' 7", making it suitable for a wide range of Northeast cruising plans, while the 410-gallon fuel capacity supports longer days cruising without worrying about stopping to refuel.

On the water, the Princess formula is clear: performance first, luxury close behind. Powered with twin Volvo IPS 650 engines, each rated at 480 mhp, with a maximum speed range of 29 to 31 knots. For this type of yacht owner, that performance is exactly where many owners want to live. Fast enough to make the run exciting, but refined enough that guests will still be talking when you come off plane.

The Cockpit: The Real Heart of the Boat

The V50 is a sports yacht, and a great sports yacht has to understand the cockpit socializing area. This is where guests gather, where wet bathing suits meet cold drinks, where lunches stretch into late afternoon, and where the day’s boating actually happens.

Princess gives the V50 an extended cockpit with outdoor living space, and the elongated canopy provides shade while preserving the open-air feel. That balance is important. Some express yachts are so enclosed they lose the magic of being outside; others are so exposed they become tiring after a few hours in the sun. The V50 is designed for the way owners actually entertain: some shade, some breeze, seating that encourages conversation, and a connection to the water aft.

Below Deck: Weekend Cruising For A Couple Or More

Below deck, the Princess V50 becomes more than a summer showpiece that will give you the option to spend more than just a day on the water. The lower-deck galley is modern and bright, positioned opposite a sociable entertaining space, with accommodations for four guests in two appointed cabins, including a full-beam owner’s stateroom amidships. The forward en-suite can also be accessed from the saloon and used as a day head.

That layout is one of the yacht’s strongest arguments. A full-beam master in a yacht of this size gives the owner a genuine retreat, not just a berth behind a door. The forward guest cabin gives friends or family a comfortable overnight space. The galley and lower lounge area add usefulness when weather changes, when kids need a break, or when a weekend aboard becomes more than just a place to sleep.

If ordering your own boat from this shipyard, the layout can be specified with an optional third twin bunk cabin in place of the lower salon, increasing accommodation flexibility. For many owners, the two-cabin arrangement will be the more open and social layout. For others, the optional third cabin may be valuable for children, extra guests, or extended weekends.
