Every year the top yacht builders from all over the world display their ground-breaking new models at the Cannes Yachting Festival both to showcase their new creation to the market, but also to take part in the prestigious World Yacht Trophies ceremony. This year's 22nd edition featured nearly 70 finalists from a jury comprised of marine journalists and yachting experts. Categories are split by size range, 45'-62' for example, and judges award the winners based on the exterior, interior design, layout, and innovation.
The Princess Yachts shipyard was the recipient this year of the Best Exterior Design award for one of their newest models, the dazzling S72. The new model beat out the competition from other popular brands like Azimut and Sunseeker to claim the top prize.

One thing is for certain with the S72, it offers far more than simply good looks. With the upgraded MAN V12 1,800HP engines, along with the patented deep-V hull design, the S72 delivers exhilarating performance with a WOT speed of 36 knots. It certainly earns its name as part of the Sport Bridge model range. "Get behind the controls on the sport bridge and you will notice how reactive it is to you," continued Jay. "This is a powerful boat and it performs like a luxury sports car. Fast and agile."

"It was designed to be a boat that had the beauty and the emotion of the first sketches, that said here's the idea. But it's not really until you see it, the boat finished, with all of the details, that you really get an idea of just the stunning beauty, the sculptural beauty that she has."
The sport bridge deck on the S72 is one of three exterior social areas for you and your guests to enjoy. Princess has perfect the design of their flybridge yachts and many of the same popular attributes were incorporated into the S-class models. Twin helm seats with fore and aft adjustments are placed starboard behind an instrument panel that includes the latest navigational and systems technology. Adjacent to the helm on the portside is a comfortable L-shaped couch with another U-shaped couch and folding teak table just aft of it. From cruising and enjoying the view, to cocktails under the stars, the sport bridge on the S72 offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy the lifestyle.
The cockpit on the Princess S72 gives you many options to enjoy your day and evening. A large sunpad extends out from beyond the sport bridge overhang, giving you and your guests an elevated sunbathing experience with water views. The cockpit seating area is comprised of a U-shaped sofa with modular seating, a large folding teak table, a galley unit, and stereo speakers. The hydraulic platform aft has a hot/cold shower and there is a garage for your tender.
Designed for socializing, dining, and entertaining guests, the salon of the Princess S72 is bathed in natural light from large windows that line the hull port and starboard. Whether you're dining at the table or relaxing on one of several sofas, you can enjoy your ocean views. Other features in the salon and galley include a 55" LED TV in a sideboard unit that raises and lowers, V-groove planked timber flooring, top line cooking equipment, icemaker, dishwasher, and more.
Princess offers 4 timber finishes for you to choose from when building your very own S72. The choices include Alba Oak, Rovere Oak, Silver Oak, and Walnut.
Stroll down the private staircase to a private lobby and the master suite, a relaxing oasis that stretches the full beam of the yacht and has a beautiful en suite bathroom. Lower deck windows and portholes bathe the master cabin in natural light and allow a fresh breeze to circulate. Three additional staterooms elegantly pamper up to six other guests that are along for the adventure.
