The Princess V78 has gotten a make-over. At just under 79-feet LOA, the Princess Yachts flagship model is a cross between an express cruiser and a superyacht that will undoubtedly re-invigorate the V-class series. Popular in the mid-to-late 2000's, the newly designed Princess V78 is a nod to the current Princess owners who want to stay within the brand as they move up from the V65 or even come over from the S72 sport bridge series. While the professional photography of the new V78 has not yet been released by Princess, SI Yachts has gotten ahold of some pictures of one of the finished boats that was recently launched. Starting at the bow, the Princess V78 uses its 18' 11" beam to create expansive seating arrangements. The bow area features a large couch and sunpad with rising head-rests for comfortable lounging. There is plenty of space to walk around the seating area, speakers line both sides of the bow, and the seat-backs can be adjusted to face either direction.
Moving aft, the Princess V78 sports the similar hydraulic swim platform which is seems to be the norm now with luxury sport and flybridge yachts. The need to maximize the usability of every space on board is a signature of the Princess designers. Moving up from the swim platform you'll notice a fresh design of the aft cockpit. There are two large double-person sun-pads both port and starboard. A large U-shaped couch is placed across from a slightly smaller, right-angled love seat creating a great socializing area. This space is complimented then by both a pedastal table for outdoor dining and a wet bar featuring a sink with electric barbecue and a top-loading "cool-box".

The interior of the Princess V78 includes the main deck living space with the galley aft and all of the staterooms below deck. Having the galley aft allows for the cockpit doors to be completely open which creates an easy serving window between the cockpit wet-bar and the chef preparing the meal.

Just across from the galley and still aft in the salon is a L-shaped lounge with a glass coffee table. Counter and storage space are either hidden or well-integrated into the interior so the feeling of space is abundant. A massive electrically-opening sunroof opens up the salon and helm with light from above and can be a perfect complement to the mood on a starry night. The salon features a U-shaped couch with another coffee table and two-seater chaise lounge.

The layout configuration of the new Princess V78 consists of four staterooms each with their own en suite head. The master stateroom is place midships and is access via a private staircase and lobby area. It stretches the entire beam of the boat and features a large double bed with drawers underneath. There is plenty of room to walk around the master berth as well as an abundance of storage, a dressing table with chair, sofa, and a built-in safe.
The VIP stateroom is nearly as elegant and is placed forward in the bow. The VIP features a large double bed with drawers underneath, a wardrobe with shelves, NAIM audio system, and a dressing table with stool. The additional guest cabins on board the Princess V78 can come with either two single beds side-by-side or a large double bed. The standard choice is to have one of each.

Owners will have the option of staying with the standard propulsion system which is a MAN V12 1,800HP engine package. Princess reports that the V78 will reach a WOT speed of 36-38 knots with the standard propulsion. If an additional 1-2 knots of top speed is desired, Princess offers a second option of MAN V12 1,900HP engines.
