When the editors from Yachting Magazine arrived at our marina in Staten Island to conduct a boat test on the Absolute 58 Flybridge, the excitement was palpable. Absolute Yachts hasn't been around a century like some builders, in fact they only opened their shipyard in 2002. Despite not having the tenure of others in Europe, every Absolute model has risen to the occasion. When the 58 Flybridge debuted in 2018, everyone know it was a special boat. In fact, it went on to win Best Flybridge Up to 60 Feet at the Motor Boat & Yachting Awards. Judges described it as "a richly detailed and very spacious interior and a really capable IPS-driven hull." Italy's best kept secret no more!

The exterior of the 58 Flybridge has low-profile lines that accent the uniquely shaped windows. These windows offer an incredible amount of natural light into the lower deck living areas which is a real advantage for those yacht owners that want to cruise for days or weeks at a time. While not aggressively shaped, the 58 Fly is more elegant in design to maximize the important social areas on board.
The flybridge space is generously sized and the hardtop allows just enough space for sunbathing while also protection from the elements. Everything you need to entertain guests is hear including a grill, dining settee, wetbar, very comfortable portside helm chairs, and a large forward sunpad. Whether driving from the upper helm or enjoying dinner and cocktails with a view, this is one of the most exciting areas on board.
In addition to the flybridge, the aft cockpit serves as an additional outdoor dining space that excels in every detail. The L-shaped couch and dining table are large enough for 6-8 with additional chairs. To block the late afternoon sun, there is even a sunshade that folds down behind the back of the couch for everyone's comfort. Pleasant lighting, storage space beneath the couch, and teak steps to the hydraulic swim platform are all details which add to the experience.
Absolute boasts that only the very finest materials and fabrics are used in the production of their exquisite interior salon. Space is abundant and the factory has even tested the salon with 14 people inside to ensure everyone had a comfortable amount of personal room. The galley and formal dining space are placed aft in an effort to make serving guests on the aft cockpit easy. A small step and backsplash separates the galley counter space from formal sitting area.
The lower deck accommodations on the Absolute 58 Flybridge include 3 beautiful staterooms and 3 bathrooms. The large hullside windows truly display their worth once you descend into the lower deck. There are large portholes in each room for ventilation, but the views from the picture windows are phenomenal. Imagine waking up each morning in the full-beam master suite right at the water's edge. The VIP forward suite is not an after thought either, as it is large enough to double as a second master stateroom. You will never feel more rejuvenated after a night spent on board an Absolute.
You can even enjoy the view through large windows in the head. You are surrounded with the calmness of the ocean in every aspect of your exerience on board the 58 Fly.
The Volvo Penta IPS800s are known to be reliable, quiet, and efficient engines which is why they were chosen on the Absolute 58. The team from Yachting Magazine drove from the exhilarating upper helm, cruising along at 20-22 knots at 2,650 rpms.
