At the end of February, Garmin Ltd. acquired a company called Trigentic AB which is a provider of technology and intelligent products and solutions. Primarily designed for the boating and RV spaces, Trigentic offers an entire suite of multi-function displays and components that will make your boat....smart!
EmpirBus digital switching components will help boat manufacturers follow in the steps of technologically advanced home builders that, for years now, have been able to integrate the systems of a home so that the owner can control everything from lights to the air conditioning all through an app on their phone or tablet. Boat manufacturers will now be able to offer the EmpirBus components to create a "smart yacht" where all major systems are integrated and the captain has complete control.
Absolute Yachts, who has a history of being a leader in innovation in boating, is among the first to offer the EmpirBus system on two of their models - the Navetta 48 and the 62 Flybridge.
