Set to make its world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, Absolute’s reimagined Navetta 58 combines trawler-minded efficiency, nearly 29-knot performance, and the luxury, comfort features that seasonal cruisers need for the run from New York to Florida and the Bahamas.
From the bustling city coastline to the pale-blue banks of the Exumas, the ideal cruising yacht must possess more than a handsome profile and a long options list. It must be comfortable in cold rain off Newport, manageable in a crosswind at a crowded Chesapeake fuel dock, efficient over long Intracoastal legs and capable of picking up the pace when a favorable weather window opens.
That is the demanding mission facing the new Absolute Navetta 58 Andromeda.
The Italian builder will give the yacht its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, held September 8–13, 2026, at the Vieux Port. The 58 will appear alongside the new Navetta 50 Calypso and Navetta 66 Aurora as one of three Absolute world premieres.

A Familiar Idea, Thoroughly Reworked
Absolute has long been skilled at making a yacht feel substantially larger than its length suggests. The original Navetta 58 helped establish that reputation and earned the 2015 Motor Boat Award in the Trawler & Aft Cabin category. The outgoing model measured 57-feet 2-inches overall, carried 634 gallons of fuel, and used twin Volvo Penta D8-IPS800 propulsion packages.
Andromeda, the latest generation Navetta 58 retains the high-volume, semi-displacement philosophy but stretches the envelope in nearly every direction that matters. Length overall is now 57-feet 9-inches, while the vessel's beam has grown to 16 feet-11.1 inches. Fuel capacity is now more than 739 gallons, fresh water capacity rises to 206 gallons, and propulsion moves up to the twin Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 packages.
The dimensional increases sound modest, but the tankage changes are more substantial. Fuel capacity is up approximately 17% percent, while fresh-water capacity rises 20%. For a yacht intended to spend days moving between marinas and anchorages, those are meaningful gains, especially when you are trying to make it from marina to marina when heading north-to-south for season.
More importantly, however, is what Absolute has done with the volume on the flybridge, main deck, and lower deck cabins.
Exterior Design With a Cruising Purpose
The new 58 is immediately recognizable as an Absolute, but its lines are softer and more integrated than those of its predecessor. Large, cabin-sized “squircle” windows dominate the forward hull, flooding the forward cabin with natural light, while glazed cockpit bulwarks open sightlines toward the water. At the stern, reverse-angled hull sides visually lighten the transom, increasing ocean views, and allow the swim platform area to feel less isolated from the cockpit conversations.
These are not purely changes made for style.
The glass cockpit sides should make the aft deck feel brighter at anchor and improve visibility for seated guests. The more open stern will be appreciated by swimmers, paddleboarders and anyone loading provisions from a low floating dock. Integrated shading systems are intended to provide privacy and sun protection, an increasingly important consideration during a Florida winter or a windless afternoon in the Abacos.
The cockpit itself is fully sheltered by the flybridge overhang and designed around movable or modular furniture. That flexibility allows an owner to create a formal dining area, a loose arrangement of lounge chairs or a relatively open working deck for loading stores and water toys.

A Flybridge Designed as a Multi-Purpose Upper Deck
On many yachts in this size range, the flybridge is still treated primarily as a second helm with seating added around it. The Andromeda takes a different approach. Its upper deck is conceived as a step-free panoramic terrace, with the helm integrated into a much larger social space. Whether cruising the Great Loop in style, or running 20 knots through blue Bahamian waters, the exhilaration felt from driving from the flybridge helm cannot be overstated. It should be an appealing place from which to work down the Chesapeake on a clear October morning or cross the Great Bahama Bank with the sun high enough to reveal changes in water color.
Aft, owners can customize the modular seating, similar to the cockpit, with lounges or sunbeds. Amidships, an L-shaped settee wraps around a sliding ceramic table, with room for additional chairs. Opposite is a substantial outdoor service unit incorporating a barbecue, refrigerator, icemaker and cooler or freezer. The helm is positioned to starboard, where the driver should have a better view down that side during close-quarters maneuvering.
Above it all is a large hardtop. Buyers can choose an opening section or photovoltaic panels, while integrated ceiling and deck lighting extends the usefulness of the space after sunset.
The hardtop solar power panel option can contribute to the yacht’s hotel-load strategy, and can eliminate at least some of the usage on the generator.

The Main Deck: Less Formal, More Livable
Step through the large, glass cockpit doors and the interior continues with the luxury terrace concept. The salon is free of changes in floor level, an advantage during long passages and for guests with limited mobility.
Absolute offers several furniture arrangements. Owners can choose a concealed folding table in the lounge or an electrically operated dining table for six opposite the galley. Alternative installations include a glass cabinet, additional storage, or a relaxation corner with armchairs and a coffee table. The slightly raised lower helm has two high-tech seats and broad forward visibility.
There is an aft L-shaped galley equipped with full-sized refrigeration, dishwasher, oven, induction cooktop, large sink, and considerable storage for those longer journeys. Absolute has installed an opening starboard-side window, helping the galley to serve both the cockpit and interior dining area.
That layout makes sense for the way cruising families actually live. Breakfast can move directly to the cockpit. Groceries and supplies do not have to pass through the entire salon. The cook remains connected to guests inside and outside. When weather closes in, everyone can retreat behind glass without losing the view.
The more consequential choice may be whether to devote the starboard side to formal dining or additional lounge and storage space. Owners who expect friends frequently joining them for dinner may prefer the six-place table. A couple living aboard for several months might get more value from a smaller table, comfortable reading chairs and every available locker.
Three Guest Cabins With Two-Owner-Couple Potential
The lower deck contains three guest cabins, but the arrangement is more interesting than a simple master stateroom, amidships VIP, and small twin.
The owner’s suite is placed forward at an intermediate level, includes a walk-in wardrobe, large, picture windows, and customizable furniture. The VIP is located amidships and has its own en-suite bathroom and large hull windows. The third cabin has twin side-by-side bunks that can be electrically joined to form a double berth. Additionally, a third bathroom serves as a day head for guests.
For cruising with another couple, the amidships VIP is especially important. Guests are not being asked to accept a dramatically inferior cabin, and two couples could comfortably divide a monthlong itinerary without one feeling relegated to occasional-use accommodations.
Moving the owner’s suite forward also creates a different cruising dynamic. The windows and elevated position should deliver excellent light and views, while the amidships cabin may remain the quieter sleeping choice when the yacht is underway in a head sea. Owners who expect to make overnight passages should sea-trial the boat and experience both cabins before deciding where they would actually sleep.
The Absolute Navetta 58 has accommodations for six guests and two crew, while the model’s CE-rated maximum capacity is 14 people. Those figures should not be confused: one describes sleeping arrangements, while the other is the certified maximum number aboard under the applicable design criteria.
Volvo Penta Power and Two Very Different Cruising Personalities
The Navetta 58 is powered by two Volvo Penta D11-IPS950 packages. Each 10.8-liter, six-cylinder D11 is rated at 533 kW, or 725 hp, for a combined 1,450 hp. Despite the IPS950 name, each engine does not produce 950 hp; “IPS950” is Volvo Penta’s package designation.
The attraction of IPS for this yacht is broader than outright speed. Steerable pods, joystick integration and counter-rotating propellers support low-speed maneuverability, while the compact installation helps create interior volume. Absolute also emphasizes reduced vibration, lower noise, and fuel efficiency.
At displacement speed, the Navetta 58 can settle into the rhythm of a traditional cruising boat, making economical progress while preserving fuel. At 20-plus knots, she can cover a coastal leg quickly, reach an inlet before an adverse tide or take advantage of a limited Gulf Stream weather window.
The yacht carries a CE Design Category B rating. Category B vessels are designed around conditions up to Beaufort Force 8 and significant wave heights up to 13-feet. As part of the design category criteria, it is not recommended to boat in those conditions, and it does not replace conservative weather routing or an experienced captain.
The Cruising Verdict
The Navetta 58 Andromeda is not a full-displacement, ocean-crossing trawler, nor is it simply a conventional flybridge yacht wearing expedition styling. Its appeal lies in between those categories.
Run slowly, it promises the economy and relaxed pace long-distance cruisers value. Push the throttles forward, and an early independent test suggests enough speed to transform a two-day coastal itinerary into a long day underway. At anchor, the yacht’s broad beam, three-cabin arrangement, protected cockpit and unusually expansive flybridge make it credible as a seasonal home rather than merely a weekend escape.
The enclosed lower helm, climate-controlled interior, and deeply sheltered cockpit should extend the season at both ends. On a wet day in Montauk or during a chilly October run through Long Island Sound, the yacht can be operated without turning the passage into an endurance exercise.
At Cannes, the crowds will notice the massive windows, the beach-club terraces, and the Italian styling. Experienced cruisers will be looking deeper, into the machinery spaces, behind the electrical panels, and the performance numbers on the fuel curve. For the owner dreaming of summers in the Hamptons and winters beyond the Gulf Stream, that is where Andromeda’s real story begins.
