Joe served 26 years as a member of the New York Police Department. His commitment, discipline and hard work have allowed him to attain the rank of Lieutenant. During his time of service within the NYPD, Joe had the pleasure of working in various precincts and handled different ranks, roles, and assignments within the Department. His work experience combined with his extensive marine background and professional boating skills placed him on an assignment to the NYPD Special Operations Division, Harbor Unit, where he was responsible for all Command Operations and Training.
Joe started with Staten Island Yacht Sales in 2001 as Captain providing boat handling lessons to clients, delivering vessels, and assisting his boating expertise in sales during boat shows. Now retired, Joe has come aboard and joined the Staten Island Sales Team.
Born and raised in New York, Joe’s passion for the water and boating started at a very young age. Growing up on the Great South Bay, you could always find him on the water fishing and boating. He began working as a mate/deckhand on inshore and offshore commercial fishing boats in Babylon and Captree, New York from the age of 16. In his early twenties, he attained his 100-ton USCG Captain’s License and began running commercial fishing and recreational vessels. He also provided his wealth of knowledge and helped teach the USCG Power Squadrons Safe Boating Course to new boaters and is currently a NYS Boating Safety Instructor.
Joe’s humbling experiences in the NYPD’s Harbor Unit, motivation and respect for the water has engaged him to educate and teach many to keep them and their families’ safe at something they share the same passion for. Joe enjoys helping people and wants to share his knowledge. He doesn’t want sell you “any” yacht, but listen to your needs and help you find the right yacht for you and your family!
