The Zeelander Z55 is a stunning, innovative 55-foot sport cruiser first launched by Dutch masters Zeelander Yachts in 2020. The fruit of a collaboration between Zeelander’s in-house team and distinguished designer Cor D. Rover, the Z55 is exceptionally refined yet welcoming. A perfect blend between old world elegance and future-forward style, this yacht is the perfect cruiser for even the most discerning buyers.
The Z55 is a first-class boat with all the trimmings. The first indication of this can be seen in its sumptuous profile, which features a traditional Downeast style with a shapely, curving stern that evokes luxury cars. All decks, steps, swim platform and the cockpit are crafted from rich composite teak, while the furnishings and other accents hew to a more neutral palette. The effect is one of refined but contemporary opulence.
The aft cockpit is the first of several expansive social areas on this yacht. 180-degree seating curves around a stunning mahogany dining table, providing an unmatched setting for al fresco dinners. When not in use, the table can be lowered and replaced with a filler cushion to create a lounge. Just forward, a gorgeous bar with three barstools awaits. The glass window that separates the cockpit from the main-deck galley slides down to facilitate the perfect indoor-outdoor lifestyle. When the generous swim platform is in use, this space becomes even larger. A small dinghy garage sits just forward of the engine room, big enough to fit a Williams 285 Jet Tender. Wide curving side decks invite guests toward the bow, where an optional sunbed awaits.
The interiors of this boat - devised by renowned Sinot Yacht Design - are no less impressive. The salon area features stylish aft galley ideally positioned to serve the outdoor spaces, particularly the adjacent outdoor bar. Further forward, users will find a lush L-shaped settee with a large dining table just behind the helm.
This clever layout integrates the two helm seats into the dining space, allowing them to swivel towards the table when desired. The helm itself is state-of-the-art, equipped with a Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit system and a 16-inch Garmin multifunction display, in addition to Volvo lever controls and joystick. An enormous sunroof overlooks this spot, adding to the ambience created by the panoramic side windows.
A companionway to starboard leads down below deck to the well-appointed accommodation, chief of which is a spacious central owner’s suite. The palatial full-beam cabin features a walkaround queen-sized bed and stunning cabinetry that provides style as well as storage space. An en suite bathroom will provide comfort and privacy. To starboard, a compact but highly livable guest room features two bunks and a hanging locker, ideal for kids or last-minute guests. The forward VIP suite is almost as plush as the owner’s cabin, with a walkaround queen-size bed, two hanging lockers, and en suite access to the shared day head.
The Z55 is powered by two 725HP Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines that can reach top speeds of 32 knots. At cruising speed, these engines provide a range of 500 nautical miles at 28 knots. Optional IPS 1050, 1200, and 1350 engines were also available to commissioning owners.
