The Vanquish VQ54 is a 54-foot performance motoryacht that was produced by the award-winning Dutch yacht-building firm Vanquish between the years of 2017 and 2021. Featuring a proprietary aluminum hull designed by Studio Delta with an axe-bow, high bulwarks, sheer lines and a custom gel-coated finish, this vessel has the appearance of a bullet as it shoots at high speeds across the water’s surface. On deck, however, this boat feels more like an Ibiza beach-terrace, and boasts ultra-contemporary, open-air lounge spaces fashioned by Guido de Groot clad in deluxe materials with a laid-back but sporty air. The ideal boat for leisure cruising, the VQ54 combines adrenalin-pumping performance with modern looks and next-generation amenities like a tender garage, responsive handling and pod-drive engines.
A perfectly minimalist foredeck lounge with a futuristic feel boasts relaxation room for the entire family across a triple-width, custom-upholstered sunpad and a pair of sofas. The sofas alone can host up to five guests, and surround a sculptural pop-up table that can be used for cocktails or snacks. Broad side-decks lead all the way back to a further triple sunpad with headrests, this time deftly sitting at the rear of the yacht above a vast transom garage capable of hosting a Williams 285 Turbo jet-tender. A full-beam, teak-lined bathing platform to stern features hydraulic functionality and a swim ladder, while side steps lead up to the al-fresco main-deck cockpit. In here, and positioned behind wrap-around windscreen glazing, you will discover a transom sofa, an L-shaped sofa and a broad coffee table with cup-holders, while at the very front there is a port-side helm station featuring all the latest navigational tech including an optional Penta joystick, throttles and a pair of Garmin or Raymarine multi-function touch-screens.
Though characterized as a day cruiser, the Vanquish VQ54 actually features plentiful space below-decks for two alternating layouts. Install a handsome galley with sparkling white work surfaces, exotic wood cabinets and the full range of cooking amenities and enjoy eating your meals at a wide V-shaped dining sofa with a pop-up table towards the bow. Alternatively, you can make do with a much smaller galley and exchange the dining sofa for a queen-sized bedroom, and fit in a further twin cabin with a bedside table and storage amidship. Either way you will enjoy a spacious bathroom with a head, a sink, granite-effect surfaces and an enclosed shower cubicle to port, perfect for freshening up before hosting guests.
A pair of 800HP MAN surface drives promote top speeds of up to 45 knots, though upgrades to a pair of Volvo Penta IPS 800 pod-drives will boost your speed to around 50 knots. A fuel tank holding 398 gallons of diesel, meanwhile, should keep this class-B hull out on the water for days of coastal cruising without needing to return to the marina.
