The Vanquish VQ48 DC is a 48-foot dual-console multi-purpose yacht that was launched by the iconic Dutch boat-building firm Vanquish Yachts in 2016. A genuine rarity among the Vanquish fleet, this yacht is a dual-console vessel designed to be used not only for ultra-stylish cruising but as a versatile sport-fisher or dive platform, too. Yet you’ve never seen a sports yacht quite like this one. Bold and assertive styling with a futuristic finish and a horizontal sheer has been crafted by industry legend Guido de Groot while a fully aluminum build and an immensely seaworthy hull with an axe-bow is the work of Studio Delta.
Towards the front of the yacht, you will find a bow lounge with a pair of wide sofas surrounding a pop-up cocktail table, alongside a triple width sunpad with headrests and intuitively placed cup-holders. There is another sunpad, again for up to three guests, at the stern of the vessel, deftly sitting above a storage locker that can handle all of your fishing gear, diving equipment and even a couple of Seabobs. Fishers will also appreciate the walk-around layout of this yacht, with wide side decks kept clear for ease of movement when trying to reel in a big catch. A swim platform at the stern, meanwhile, offers a great place for spear fishers and bathers alike to dive into the water and set off towards warm-water coral reefs.
Across the center of the deck there is an L-shaped sofa in your choice of upholstery that surrounds a hexagonal fiberglass table where you will enjoy memorable meals or plot your activities for the day. This area can be fully al-fresco so that guests can enjoy the sunshine or covered with a lightweight, transparent but tinted hard-top for protection from rain and shine. The dual console helm sits behind a wrap-around windscreen and features joystick handling, an automatic trim system, a bespoke steering wheel, a Raymarine multi-function touchscreen and space for goodies like a fish-finder or depth-sounder. An innately customizable model, the VQ48DC can also be fitted out with casting platforms, rod-holders, a tow-rail perfect for wakeboarding or even a transom barbecue grill.
There is also a compact lower deck living space on this vessel with a clean and contemporary feel. Down here you will encounter a day-head, a mini-galley with a stainless-steel sink, refrigerated storage and a microwave oven, alongside an open, V-shaped dinette lounge with a pop-up table that can be easily transformed into a double bed for overnight stays.
A swift mover across a range of coastal waters, this yacht can reach top speeds in excess of 40 knots thanks to twin Cummins 593hp Zeus pod-drives, while outboard engines are also on the menu. Upgrade to the Veloce edition with even more powerful MAN motors and you can expect the top speeds to inch over the 50-knot mark.
