The Vanquish VQ45 Veloce is a 44-foot high-performance motor-yacht that was launched by the exciting Dutch boat-building firm Vanquish Yachts in 2022. With a sheer monolithic form, an aggressive wave-slicing vertical bow, a low-slung presence on the water and the sort of aluminum livery you may expect on a stealth fighter-jet, the VQ45 Veloce has to be one of the sleekest and most stylish speed boats ever released. Based on the same design as the VQ45 but with an ultra-streamlined hard-top roof, a glazed cockpit for all-weather cruising and pulsating outboard propulsion, this vessel promises raw power, turbo-charged performance and an approach to the luxury life at sea that is distinctly minimalist and modern.
A main-deck dripping in contemporary style is divided up into three distinct zones each with their own unique appeal. Out on the foredeck there is a secluded relaxation zone surrounded by high bulwarks with a U-shaped sofa fitted snug up against the bow, surrounding a trapezoidal bespoke breakfast table with a modern sheen. Another forward facing sofa and a triple-width sunpad in striking blue upholstery with integrated cup-holders and cushioned backrests complete the sultry appeal out here, while to stern there is a unique Robin’s Nest lounge sitting under a retractable sunshade. In this aft-cockpit you will discover teak-effect flooring, a U-shaped sofa that surrounds a wide dining table and a transom sofa with views out to stern. A single step down leads to a swim platform with dive-decks either side of the outboard motors, as well as a sports locker, a central swim ladder and an extending hydraulic passarelle.
Head inside the upper-cockpit to discover a climate-controlled space surrounded by wrap-around tinted windows and a glazed sunroof with superb views and plenty of natural light for guests and pilots alike. In here there are a pair of forward-facing, leather-lined seats facing a modern port-side helm station with Mercury joystick handling, a Mercury Skyhook digital anchor switch, electric throttles, power-steering, a high-speed compass and Raymarine-branded touch-screen technology with integrated instrumentation. Also on offer is a stereo system linked to a set of speakers peppered around the deck for at-sea partying to your favorite tracks.
Though this futuristic model may look like a high-caliber dayboat from profile it hides one or two surprises below-deck that turn it into a superb option for couples who enjoy overnight voyages. Upon entry you will encounter an open mini-dinette galley with solid dark countertops, a metallic sink, refrigeration options and cooking facilities, while to port there is an enclosed bathroom with a shower stall and bronzed fixtures. Up by the bow and benefiting from panoramic strip glazing, a skylight, mood lighting and diamond-stitched leather upholstery is a lower-lounge with a V-shaped sofa that functions as a double bed for a peaceful and comfortable night of rest.
A stepped, racing-style hull has been paired with four chunky outboards to stern for top speeds that blow your competitors out of the water. Quad 600HP Mercury Verado V12s have touched the 62-knot barrier during sea trials, while at lower cruising speeds you will enjoy multi-day coastal voyages thanks to a 528 gallon fuel tank.
