The Vanquish VQ43 is a 42-foot performance motoryacht launched by the renowned Dutch yacht-building firm Vanquish Yachts in 2015. Designed by Guido de Groot, Studio Delta and the in-house Vanquish team as either a high-speed dayboat or as a jet-tender for a megayacht, this sleek vessel has looks sharper than a steak knife. A bold and futuristic profile with a horizontal sheer and an axe-bow hide ultra-contemporary, al-fresco seating areas for up to 12 guests. Performance, meanwhile, exists at the forefront of yachting technology, combining an aluminum structure with rugged engines for peerless speed and balance.
A triple-width, walk-around sunpad platform out on the teak-lined foredeck offers a slick and hyper-modern place to soak up the rays while enjoying marina-facing views. To the stern, meanwhile, you will discover a double sunpad and a chaise-longue, both with moveable backrests that turn the front portion of these cushioned seats into a sofa or a loveseat, respectively. Seating comes in a range of upholstery and color schemes so that you can match your lounge areas with your hull coating or your vibe. At the very rear of the boat, meanwhile, there is a full-beam bathing platform perfect for kids who wish to make a splash in the warm water.
Heading into the open main-deck cockpit, surrounded by a wraparound, tinted windscreen, you’ll find an L-shaped sofa with backrests surrounding a timber-topped breakfast table and sitting across from a wet bar station with an integrated grill, a sink and chilled storage. The superbly modern helm sits on the port-side of the vessel and features a multi-function Raymarine display screen, joystick handling, a bespoke steering wheel and chunky throttles, as well as a single helm chair.
A deceptively spacious lower deck on this model features a galley with a single-zone cooktop, a stainless-steel sink and a microwave oven, along with a V-shaped dinette lounge with a pop-up table that can be swiftly turned into a double bed for overnight rest. Oval portholes, an atrium feel, and clean, white surrounds keep this lower deck feeling bright and breezy during the day and intimate and secluded at night. A spacious head on this level comes with all the facilities needed to freshen up, while a compact twin room amidship with extra storage will prove perfect for smaller kids.
The standard engine option on the VQ43 is a pair of Yanmar 370hp inboard diesels with top speeds of around 40 knots. A fuel tank holding 800 liters of diesel, meanwhile, will keep you out on the water all day and night as you traverse some of the finest coastal waters in the world.
