The Tiara 5800 Sovran is a 57-foot sports cruiser launched by iconic Michigan-based shipyard Tiara Yachts between the years of 2008 and 2014. This was the largest vessel ever produced by Tiara upon launch and the flagship of the brand, though this is a slick boat that hides its mass well. Boasting a super-sleek aerodynamic form with plenty of curves, cresting wave side windows and a retractable sunroof, not to mention a pair of al fresco lounges and a capacious lower-deck, this is the ideal yacht for all-weather cruising.
A broad and sun-kissed foredeck impresses with a double-sunpad and marina-facing views, though more sizeable and sociable space is located to the stern in the form of a partially shaded, teak-lined aft-cockpit. Back here you will discover an L-shaped transom sofa in plush leather surround a glossy timber dining table with cup-holders, as well as a pair of wet-bar consoles providing chilled storage and an outdoor barbecue grill respectively. Curving side steps lead down to a full-beam bathing platform at the stern that is robust enough to hold a jet-tender, while a hydraulic davit is stored in a transom locker.
Stainless steel-framed sliding glass doors lead into a main-deck salon lined in authentic teak with trapezoidal side windows, an L-shaped leather sofa, a pair of armchairs, cabinets and room for a bespoke coffee table. Ahead of this you will discover a raised helm station to starboard with two piloting seats that sit beneath an electronic sunroof flooding this space with plenty of natural light. The dashboard features a pair of E120 Raymarine multi-function display screens with autopilot, power-steering, QL Marine trim-tab controls, Penta joystick handling, Volvo engine monitors, a Ritchie Globemaster compass and a map-desk all sitting behind a Taylor Made curved-glass windshield.
A sunken galley with an atrium-feel boasts granite countertops, a three-zone hob, a Vitrifrigo fridge-freezer, a steel double sink, a combination oven, a Fisher Paykel dishwasher as well as plenty of storage, and sits slightly above and across from a U-shaped dining sofa with an extending table. There are two en-suite double-cabins located on this level for up to four overnight guests, with rooms benefiting from skylights, oversized porthole windows or knife-insert glazing. A VIP double to the bow comes with two timber-lined closets and a large bathroom, while the full-beam owner’s stateroom amidship features a queen island bed, an armchair, a work-desk or vanity station, cushioned wall panels and a pair of full-height closets. The master head, meanwhile, is clad in timber and granite with a ceramic sink and a fully enclosed waterfall shower cubicle.
This yacht is powered by three 435mhp Volvo Penta IPS D6 pod-drive diesel engines for top speeds of up to 34 knots and cruising speeds of 26 knots. A high-speed cruising range of 344 nautical miles increases to 1405 nautical miles should you glide along at a leisurely 8 knots, while a proprietary hull form with a 14-degree transom deadrise has been designed to enhance performance over coastal waters.
