The Tiara 4100 Open is a tough, stylish 41.3-foot cruiser produced between 1996 and 2002 by iconic Michigan yacht brand Tiara Yachts. Spacious, user-friendly, and highly versatile, this popular yacht is ideal for weekenders, sportfishers, and those who enjoy longer, week-long hauls with family and friends.
A large transom door leads from the generous swim platform to the well-equipped cockpit. Serious sportfishers have plenty of options here, including a large removable fish box with macerator, livewell, floor storage or a secondary livewell, tackle center, bait prep center, gunwale-mounted rod-holders, a freezer and even a tuna tower. A wide portside aft-facing lounge seat provides uninterrupted views of the sea and lifts up to provide engine room access, which features five feet and five inches feet of headroom thanks to the raised bridge deck.
As you and your guests walk up and forward toward the hardtop, you’ll find a superb wet bar with sink and icemaker behind the double-wide helm seat, perfect for rustling up some sunset cocktails. To port, lavish upper cockpit seating allows up to five guests to interact with the captain, with an insulated cooler and storage beneath. An electric seat allows operators to sit or stand as the command the helm, with controls, gauges and monitors close at hand.
A sliding Lexan stairway with gentle steps leads below deck to a generous owner’s cabin with an impressive six-foot-ten-inches of headroom. Located in the forepeak, the queen bed (with storage beneath) is angled to maximize leg room around the berth. A mirrored headboard increases the sense of space, while an overhead opening hatch invites fresh air and natural light. Two reading lights on either side of the headboard allow owners to unwind with a good book before bed or watch classic movie on the nearby TV/VCR. Two opening porthole windows with privacy screens allow owners to control airflow.
The galley is another standout feature of this boat, a testament to Tiara’s obsession with easy, elegant living. Found to starboard, the galley features superb storage throughout and a standing fridge-freezer, as well as a stainless-steel sink, solid surface countertops and storage cabinets, a microwave oven. A porthole window is a thoughtful touch, providing air and view for the chef.
Opposite the galley is a dinette lounge to port that converts to bunk beds when desired, perfect for children or overnight guests. Air conditioning keeps things cool, while two under-floor storage areas offer smart, space-saving stowage. A TV/VCR unit allows family and friends to conduct movie nights or watch the big game close to the snacks and refreshments in the galley. A full head is found to starboard, just aft of the galley, and features a vanity, Vacuflush toilet, a sink with storage, a storage locker for linens, and a separate stall shower.
The 4100 Open is equipped with two robust 450hp Caterpillar 3126 B diesel engines that reach max speeds of 28 knots with an optimal cruising speed of 19.5 knots. More powerful engine options include twin 635hp Cummins QSM11 diesel engines that top out at an impressive 34 knots, though a more economical cruising speed of 28.9 knots will yield a better fuel economy and a wider range, with around 44 gallons per hour.
