The Tiara 3100 Open is a 34-foot dual-purpose express cruiser that was produced by leading Michigan-based shipyard Tiara Yachts between 1993 and 2004. A modern take on a Tiara classic from the 1970s, the 3100 Open is impressive, with a super-sleek profile and a deeper hull with an 18-degree deadrise that has been fine-tuned for chasing fish in choppy offshore conditions. Perfect as a family cruiser or as a sportfisher, this vessel retains its strong allure on the used market due to its endless adaptability, understated charm, vintage appeal and time-tested seaworthiness.
64-square feet of dedicated fishing space awaits in an aft-cockpit that has been kitted out with everything your fishing team requires. There is a non-slip floor, an in-deck fishbox, a livewell, a bait-prep station, flush rod holders, a tackle center and a double transom lift-gate, while added extras include a floor plate for a fighting chair or even a tuna-tower hoisted above the cockpit. Yet this is also a space that can be enjoyed by the whole family, with an optional pop-up transom sofa, a flip-up table, a full-beam swimming platform and space for a wet-bar console.
The main deck helm sits underneath a lightweight hard-top with side glazing and an open aspect to the rear, where you will find a U-shaped Ultraleather portside sofa as well as a twin seat facing the dashboard. The helm boasts Hynautic power-steering, Morse throttles, Furuno radar, trim tab controls, Shipmate VHF radio, a compass and plenty of room to install a modern display screen of your choice.
The lower-deck lobby is lined in Burmese teak with a teak and holly sole or carpeting that remains light and breezy thanks to oval portholes, recessed lighting, a trio of large skylights and well over 6 feet of head clearance. Down here you can expect a U-shaped leather sofa surrounding a glossy timber dining table that sits across from an open galley boasting Formica work-surfaces with teak accents, a Princess two-zone cooktop, a stainless-steel sink, a Norcold fridge-freezer tower, a microwave oven and plenty of below-counter storage. To the bow there is a double queen-sized bed and hanging lockers, and to starboard there is a main head, though overnighters will have to utilize the outdoor cockpit shower to freshen up. There is also an option on some models to turn the lower dining sofa into a sofa-bed to boost the sleeping capacity to four overnight guests.
The 3100 Open can be fitted with a range of engine options, from a pair of 320mhp Crusader 454XL V-8 gasoline inboards with a top speed of around 32 knots, to twin diesel options such as 315mhp Cummins 9-M2 Diamonds or even a pair of Caterpillar 311s with slower top speeds but a more expansive range.
