The Sunseeker Predator 55 EVO is a 55-foot coupe-style sports cruiser yacht that was launched by the UK’s biggest yacht builder, Sunseeker, in 2021. Building on the same aggressive styling, peerless speed and superb handling that has made the Predator line of vessels a global best-seller, the Predator 55 EVO represents a further evolution in yacht-design with ultra-minimalist contemporary interiors, a carbon-fiber and stainless-steel body and the very latest in marine tech. Out on this yacht’s spacious foredeck you will find a lounge sofa built into the superstructure adjoining a pair of single seater sunpads, artfully arranged around a central niche large enough for a cocktail table. At the rear of the vessel there is a teak-lined aft-cockpit with a pair of sofas and a triple-sunpad, as well as steps down to the full-beam hydraulic bathing platform and an optional wet-bar console with a Kenyon grill and an icemaker. Stepping into the salon you will find a clean and contemporary space lined in your choice of smoked eucalyptus, American cherry, silver oak or glossy walnut, with accents of stainless steel, brushed stone, authentic leather and smooth carbon-fiber very much in evidence. There is an ergonomically styled U-shaped sofa to port, hugging a bespoke coffee table, while to starboard there is cabinet space and room for your home entertainment system linked to a multi-zone surround-sound system. At the front of the internal cockpit there is a forward sofa and a pair of black leather Selto chairs facing the helm station. The helm’s dashboard is fitted with the latest Simrad touch-screen display panels, thruster controls, power-steering and an optional joystick. The entire cockpit benefits from swooping side windows, a retractable sunroof and rear doors and windows that can disappear into the sole for a light and breezy feel.
On the lower deck you will find a capacious lobby area hosting an open galley with Miele appliances and an L-shaped dinette sofa surrounding a breakfast table, along with an en-suite scissor twin bedroom to the bow. Located amidship, meanwhile, is the full-beam owner’s stateroom, a plush retreat with knife-insert windows, a side sofa or armchairs, a king-sized bed, bedside cabinets, hanging closets and a bathroom with a shower.
The Sunseeker Predator 55 EVO is so agile out on the water that you may mistake handling this vessel for a speedboat. A proprietary Hydro-Pack system with a Humphree Automatic Interceptor System and independent rudders complements a deep-V hull with a relatively flat aft section for a dry, efficient and superbly balanced ride. A pair of Volvo Penta D11 engines deliver full throttle top speeds of 32 knots, with consistent cruising speeds clocking in at around 28 knots. Should you choose to trundle along at the more sedate pace of 6 knots, meanwhile, you can expect a range of over 1,200 nautical miles, more than enough to cruise to your heart’s content.
