The Sunseeker 68 Sport Yacht is a 71-foot sportscruiser yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the UK-based yacht building firm Sunseeker in 2017. Replacing a previous version of the 68 Sport Yacht from 2014, this new model boasts extra-large hull windows, a refreshed interior dripping with contemporary style, more powerful engines and a Sunseeker’s signature aggressive external styling.
The teak-lined flybridge comes fitted with a Venturi-style tinted windshield to the front for protection from spray as well as a Bimini top for shelter, and features plenty of starboard seating in the form of a forward sunpad, a loveseat and an adjoining U-shaped sofa with a dining table. On the port side of the bridge there is room for a wet-bar console to the rear fitted with a Vitrifrigo icemaker, a Coolmatic drinks chiller and a Kenyon grill, while at the front of the bridge there is a helm station with two leather seats, Simrad display panels and power-steering.
On the main level you will find a triple-seater sunpad with marina facing views out on the foredeck, while on the sheltered aft-deck there is a hook-shaped sofa tracing the transom and starboard side of the yacht directly connected to an elevated rear sunpad. Side steps lead down to a full-beam, teak-lined swimming platform and a tender garage capable of storing a Williams Jet Tender or your choice of modern water toy.
Sunseeker are famed for their high-class, hand-finished interiors and the 68 Sport Yachts demonstrates just why. Sliding glass doors lead into a salon with a glossy American Walnut finish, timber flooring, wengewood accents, leather furnishings and stainless-steel accents. There is a U-shaped sofa with a bespoke coffee table to the rear, cabinetry and space for a home entertainment system as well as a curved, L-shaped dining sofa hugging a hand-crafted dining table. The lower-helm is located to the starboard side of the cockpit and boasts immense visibility out of sloping windshield windows, Side Power bow and stern thruster controls, Simrad touch-screen panels and power-assisted steering.
On the lower deck there is room for up to 6 overnight guests across an en-suite VIP double stateroom to the bow, an en-suite starboard twin and an amidship, full-beam owner’s stateroom with a work desk, a side sofa, a walk-in closet, a king-sized island bed, widescreen windows and a marble-lined bathroom. You will also find the 68 Sport Yacht’s galley on this level, a practical space with granite counters, a Plastimo 3-zone ceramic hob, a Sharp microwave, a Miele dishwasher and a large fridge-freezer unit. A private crew quarters is accessed via a transom door and includes a pair of bunk beds and its own bathroom.
Performance sits at the heart of this sporty yacht’s appeal, and top speeds of up to 36 knots come thanks to a pair of 1550PS MAN or MTU shaft-drive diesel engines. At lower cruising speeds of around 10 knots you can expect a range of around 500 nautical miles, while Sleipner zero-speed stabilizers keep this yacht steady while stationary.
