The Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht is a 67-foot sports cruiser with an open flybridge that was launched by the British boat building firm Sunseeker in 2021. One of the newest yachts in the company’s fleet, the 65 Sport Yacht introduces a range of striking, original features including a dynamic carbon fiber and stainless-steel exterior, super-fast Penta engines, a redesigned SkyHelm bridge with an emphasis on piloting, a modular internal lay-out and dramatic knife-insert windows on the hull sides.
The open flybridge keeps a low profile for increased aerodynamics, and though this is a place designed around piloting there is still room for a three-pad modular sunbed to rear of this teak-lined deck. At the front you will find the proprietary SkyHelm, a new feature for Sunseeker, featuring an adjustable steering mount with a steering wheel and an IPS Penta joystick that can be used in an upright position when cruising at lower speeds, or lowered into the arms of the pilot for full-throttle, speedboat-like steering. There are a pair of reclining helm chairs up here with the feel of an F1 driving seat, either side of an aircraft-style console with retro chrome dials, plotter instrumentation, LED feedback, VHF radio and a range of throttle controls. The helm seats are also fixed to an axis to that they can spin around and be used for socializing when you are not on the move. As an added benefit for owner-operators the tinted venturi-style windshield at the front of the bridge can be raised or lowered, perfect for protecting yourself from spray when attacking the waves at high speed.
One level down and there is plenty of room for sun-worshippers to work on their tan out on the foredeck, where a modular sunpad sits across from a Portuguese-bridge style lounge sofa with a backrest. Out on the aft-deck, partially sheltered thanks to the radar overhang, you will discover a transom dining sofa positioned next to an extending teak table on one side and an elevated rear-facing sunpad on the other. There is also a wet-bar console with an icemaker and an electric grill that connects to the internal galley thanks to a retractable window. Side steps lead down to a full-beam hydraulic swimming platform and access to a tender garage large enough to host a modern jet-RIB. Should you wish to carry your water toy out on the bathing platform then you have the option of refitting the garage and turning it into an aft-beach club with a cocktail bar, fridge, BBQ and seating.
Stepping indoors through fully retractable sliding glass doors with glistening stainless-steel frames you will find a walk-in galley kitchen with marble work surfaces, authentic timber cabinets, a Miele convection oven and four-zone hob, an under-counter fridge-freezer and a large sink. Across from this there is plenty of room for cabinetry, while at the front of the salon there is a U-shaped dinette sofa with a table and views towards the 65 Sport Yacht’s home entertainment system. The lower helm station comes with a pair of leather helm seats, Simrad display panels, excellent visibility and all of the hi-tech navigational equipment needed for jaunts out to the Mediterranean or Caribbean Seas. Steps at the front of the cockpit lead down to a lower deck area with sleeping space for up to 6 overnight guests across an en-suite twin, an en-suite VIP double stateroom up by the bow and a full-beam owner’s stateroom amidship. The owner’s room boasts a pair of side sofas sitting just underneath trapezoidal windows, a king-sized island bed, bedside cabinets, plush carpeting, hanging closets and a large en-suite bathroom. There is also a snug crew quarters for one at the rear of the boat with its own head.
The Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht will blow away its rivals out at sea, with thrilling top speeds of 38 knots coming courtesy of a pair of Volvo Penta IPS1350 pod-drive engines. At the more sedate pace of 10 knots you can expect a range of around 750 nautical miles, while this yacht’s original hull provides plenty of agility and balance as you carve figures-of-eight out of the water’s foaming surface.
