The Sunseeker Superhawk 55 is a 56-foot high-performance sports cruiser that was launched by the award-winning British yacht-building company Sunseeker in 2023. The Superhawk line of motor yachts is perhaps best known as the vessel of choice for international man of mystery James Bond, and you could certainly see the secret agent admiring this yacht’s super-sleek and elegant form. Primed for speed and luxury alike, there’s dynamic hull glazing, modern lines, an assertive presence on the water and a wealth of sun-kissed space across the main-deck that provides the perfect setting for languid afternoons on the water. Keenly anticipated, Sunseeker sold 50 of these stylish models before the first hull was even launched.
You can opt for an open-air edition of this yacht or cover the cockpit with a floating hard-top for shelter from the elements. Either way you can expect minimalist, contemporary and comfortable deck spaces throughout, such as the al-fresco foredeck, where a low-slung sofa for three shares space with a triple-width forward sunpad, both in plush marine-grade upholstery. Head to aft to see where this watercraft truly shines. Lined in pale teak there is a full-beam hydraulic bathing platform, a sports locker for a pair of Seabobs and even a transom garage capable of hosting a Williams jet tender. Step up and beyond a steel-framed, custom-built transom gate in a Union Jack pattern to explore a sun-kissed aft-cockpit with an elevated X-TEND sunpad for three with pop-up head-rests and a pair of luxurious L-shaped sofas surrounding a bespoke table that can be used for coffee and meal service. Ahead of this there is a broad wet-bar station just aft of the helm seats with a marbled lid, an outdoor grill, a sink, chilled storage and an optional ice-chipper, perfect for preparing grilled lobster, shucking oysters and mixing Bond’s favorite cocktail, the Vesper Martini.
Up front and sheltered behind a wrap-around, tempered-glass windshield there are three leather-clad helm seats facing a high-tech dashboard with a pair of oversized touch-screen monitors, digital tachometers, chrome-lined gauges, a mounted high-speed compass, Penta joystick handling, power-steering and throttles.
A glazed atrium roof with a signature blue tint and structural steel frames allows natural light to stream into the spacious lower-deck, where exotic hardwood, steel fixtures, lavish upholstery, lacquered accents, a pale timber sole and widescreen hull windows present an elegant, refined and modern atmosphere. An open galley with solid stone work surfaces sits opposite a sofa in the lower lounge, while to the bow there is a VIP double stateroom with timber-lined closets, a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with an enclosed shower. The owner’s stateroom is located amidship and features a king-bed, two full-height closets, cabinetry and a marble-lined bathroom with a wet-room shower.
Powered by twin 725HP Volvo Penta D11 IPS950 pod-drive engines, you can expect top speeds of up to 38 knots at full throttle, while multi-day voyages at a cruising pace of around 30 knots are guaranteed thanks to a 476 gallon fuel tank.
