The Sunseeker Manhattan 52 is a 56-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the British boat-building company Sunseeker in 2017. Replacing a previous Manhattan 52 model from 2006, this compact vessel features a striking sporty profile, twin arrowhead hull windows, an extended flybridge, an all-new beach club setting and stunning contemporary interiors. The yacht made immediate waves with industry insiders when released, winning the title for “Best Flybridge up to 55ft” at the 2017 Motor Boat Awards, while its beach-club was recognized as “The Most Innovative On-Board Design Solution” at the 2017 IBI Metstrade Boat Builder Awards. The Sunseeker Manhattan 52 also proved highly successful with customers, with over 140 models shipped to discerning buyers around the world since the yacht was launched.
The teak-lined open flybridge with a tinted, wrap-around Venturi windshield boasts three distinct seating areas across a rear U-shaped dining sofa with an extending table, a low-slung U-shaped port-side sofa with a coffee table and a full-width forward sunpad ideal for afternoon naps and sunbathing. Also to be found on this upper level is a wet-bar console with an icemaker and an electric grill, along with the upper helm station. A pair of comfortable helm seats face the dashboard, where you will find a pair of Simrad evo3 display panels, thruster and trim-tab controls, an optional joystick, power steering and VHF radio.
Down on the main deck there is a modular seating area with a pair of sunpads, a loveseat and a cocktail table out on the foredeck, while back on the aft deck there is a transom dining sofa hugging an extending teak breakfast table. Side steps lead down to the full-beam hydraulic bathing platform, where you will discover an innovative beach-club locker with space for a pair of seabobs, snorkeling gear, a drop-down bench and a shower head.
Inside and out maintain a seamless connection due to rear glazing and doors that can be retracted into the sole at the touch of a button. This creates bar access with a pair of stools to the rear galley, where solid work surfaces join a three zone Miele hob, a Miele oven, under counter fridge-freezer units and a wine cooler. Located amidship in the salon is a U-shaped dining sofa and a starboard settee, beautifully framed by surfaces in your choice of American walnut or satin-finished silver oak. At the front of the main deck there is a second set of comprehensive helm controls with superb visibility out of gin-clear windscreen windows that Sunseeker owners find very convenient.
There is room on the lower deck for up to six overnight guests across a starboard twin berth, an en-suite VIP double stateroom to the bow and an amidship owner’s stateroom. The owner’s suite features double windows to each side, a pair of armchairs, mirrored wall panels, plenty of cabinet space, plush carpeting, a king-sized bed, bedside cabinets and a marble-lined bathroom with a waterfall shower. There is also an optional rear crew space for one with its own head at the stern of the vessel should you require assistance on your cruising adventures.
Full-throttle speeds of up to 31 knots come thanks to either a pair of Volvo Penta D11-725 shaft-drives, or twin Volvo Penta IPS 950 pod-drive engines. A fuel tank holding 580 gallons of diesel, meanwhile, means you can expect a range of 230 nautical miles when cruising at an impressive 21 knots.
