The Sunseeker SuperYacht 50M Ocean is a 158-foot tri-deck luxury superyacht due to launch in 2022. The flagship vessel of Sunseeker’s new SuperYacht line and one of the largest yachts the British firm has ever built, this model will set new standards for graceful style, grand amenities and sheer size. The SuperYacht 50M Ocean will be constructed in collaboration with Dutch shipyard ICON to provide seven unique entertaining decks, while British atelier Design Unlimited have been brought in to give this yacht an ultra-contemporary interior. A proprietary Fast Displacement Hull Form in study aluminum, meanwhile, will be the product of joint work between Sunseeker and the world-renowned Van Oossanen Naval Architects for remarkable speed, agility and efficiency.
The flybridge on this yacht is large enough to host a trapezoidal jacuzzi spa-pool, a rear sunlounge and a curved low-slung sofa out in the sun, with a further upper-lounge space and a walk-in wet-bar with authentic stone counters covered by a fiberglass canopy. One level down and you will find a sunken, Ibiza-style lounge space out on the foredeck, with tender storage and a hydraulic crane positioned up by the bow. To the rear on this level there is an aft-deck with a formal dining area, a sunlounge located up against glazed bulwarks and a further wet-bar with bar stools. An upper salon on this level benefits from frameless sliding glass doors that completely open up to provide a seamless transition between the interior and outdoors, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that look out across cutaway gunwales toward the sea. There is room in here for a plethora of sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and even a cinema-screen, and if you wish this deck can also fit in a VIP upper stateroom. To the front of the upper cockpit there is an enclosed wheelhouse equipped with all the latest navigational equipment and superb views out of sloping, gin-clear windshield windows.
The main attraction out on the teak-lined main deck is undoubtedly the huge, bottom-glazed plunge pool that sits alongside five, double-length modular sunpads to create one of the finest beach-club concepts ever seen on a yacht of this class. Internal spaces on this level include a lavish salon with a dining room and an ultra-modern lounge, bronze-lined staircases down to the lower deck, an enclosed galley with marble worktops and a forward owner’s stateroom with a walk-in dressing room, a full-beam bathroom and a lobby larger than most yacht’s main decks.
On the lower level the Sunseeker SuperYacht 50M Ocean provides space for up to 8 overnight guests across a pair of en-suite doubles and a pair of en-suite twin bedrooms, all of which benefit from mullioned side windows. At the front of this level is an extensive crew quarters with sleeping space for up to 8 members of staff, along with private bathrooms, a galley, a dinette and ample multi-functional storage. At the stern you will find a triple-length swimming platform with collapsing transom walls and a hidden bar that backs onto the glazed walls of the plunge pool for a stylish and dramatic atmosphere. There is also a tender garage down here big enough for even the largest modern water toys.
Despite the size of the Sunseeker SuperYacht 50M Ocean you can still expect respectable top speeds of well over 20 knots thanks to a pair of MTU 5,280PS diesel engines, with a range of 3,200 nautical miles when cruising at 12.5 knots. The VONA Fast Displacement Hull, meanwhile, is rated as the most efficient hull in the Wolfson Unit database and can even be fitted with Hull Vane technology to aid stability, eliminate drag and reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%.
