131 Motor Yacht
The Sunseeker 131 Yacht is a 131-foot tri-deck superyacht that was launched by the British boat-building firm Sunseeker in 2017. One of the largest vessels in the Sunseeker fleet, the 131 was awarded the prize for “Best Yacht Design” at the 2017 Asia Boating Awards, and it is not hard to see why. A sleek, sloping profile, jagged cutaway gunwales, curving floor-to-ceiling windows, four aft sundecks to the stern and fully customizable interiors combine to make this one of the most spectacular vessels ever launched from Sunseeker’s shipyard in Poole, Dorset.
A fiberglass canopy with a radar arch provides shelter across the central portion of the teak-lined sun-bridge, while 360-degree, Venturi-style tinted glazing protects guests up here from spray. At the front of the bridge there is a curved modular sunpad that surrounds a circular hot-tub, with steps down to an Ibiza-style seating retreat with a pair of U-shaped sofas and a set of bespoke coffee tables. There is also room up top for further seating to the rear and a starboard side walk-in wet-bar with curved, marble-clad work surfaces, an optional grill, an icemaker and a drinks chiller.
On the upper deck you will find a large foredeck with sunpad seating and a further outdoor sundeck to the rear with room for an al-fresco, ten-seater dining table and a pair of L-shaped transom sofas. Stepping indoors through curved, sliding glass doors there is an upper lounge with hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and finely upholstered seating, as well as adaptable space for a mini-galley, a stateroom, a home gym or a cinema-room. At the front of the upper cockpit, you will discover a wheelhouse with all the latest tech required to chart your course across the seas, including FLIR night-vision, Simrad evo3 touch-screen panels, a Furuno depth-sounder, bow thrusters, power-assisted steering and more.
A wealth of outdoor relaxation space continues on the Sunseeker 131’s main deck, where a sheltered aft-deck features a circular seating area and side steps down to a unique hydraulic swimming platform with a scallop-shaped edge. You will find access to the transom garage down here, a space large enough to accommodate a Williams 565 tender as well as a host of seabobs, inflatables and a Sea-Doo watercraft.
A main deck salon with the dimensions of a Manhattan loft, mullioned side windows, granite surfaces, glossy oak surrounds and plush carpeting plays host to a formal dining space and a more relaxed seating area with a pair of upholstered sofas. Separated from this is a spacious galley with the feel of a country-kitchen, well-stocked with Miele appliances and your choice of authentic countertops. At the front of the main deck there is a stunning, full-beam owner’s stateroom with a king-sized bed, a work desk, a seating lobby, walk-in closets and a bathroom clad in marble with a bathtub, a waterfall shower and a pair of sinks. Further accommodation awaits on the lower-deck, where up to 8 overnight guests can get a good night’s sleep across a pair of en-suite twins and two en-suite double staterooms. There is also a privately accessed crew quarters towards the bow for up to 8 members of staff, complete with its own galley, dinette lounge and bathroom facilities.
Sunseeker Yachts are rightfully proud that a yacht of this size can reach top speeds of up to 25 knots thanks to a pair of powerful MTU 12V 4000 diesel shaft-drive engines. At cruising speeds of 12 knots, meanwhile, you can expect a range of around 1,600 nautical miles at half-loads, more than enough for an extended trip down to the Caribbean. The Sunseeker 131 can also be equipped with zero-speed stabilizers for reduced roll, while the yacht’s hard-chine GRP hull proves superbly balanced and efficient on the move.
