The Riva Virtus 63 is a 64-foot open yacht that was produced by the iconic, Ferretti-owned Italian boat-building firm Riva between the years of 2012 and 2019. The flagship of the brand when released, this sporty and stylish yacht bears an undeniable Italian verve with a sharp profile inspired by the classic racing yachts of old wedded to the sort of modern heft and performance today’s yachters demand. A hull form in shimmering Shark grey, knife-insert hull windows, sublime teak decking, a pulpit-style radar tower and masses of al-fresco seating make this one of the most seductive boats out on the water today.
Though this yacht may have the looks of a speedboat, it soon becomes clear to guests onboard that this vessel is larger than many sports cruisers and can easily host a dozen of your closest friends. Across the open main deck, you will find a double sunpad on the foredeck, matched by a similar sunpad with headrests to stern. This rear sunpad sits on top of a spacious tender garage with a slipway system that is capable of hosting an AVON Jet Rib or a Williams 285, while side steps lead down to a teak-lined swimming platform.
The sophisticated cockpit is a sedate place to relax and enjoy aperitifs or long, moonlit evening meals, safely protected from spray by a wrap-around Venturi windshield and benefiting from a pop-up electro-hydraulic Bimini roof. A pair of seats to aft are joined by a port-side L-shaped Mambo White sofa that hugs a varnished teak breakfast table, while a starboard-side settee features a unique sliding system that allows it to draw close to the table while dinner is in service. A fully-stocked wet-bar is also located on this level, complete with a grill, a fridge and a sink, so that you do not need to retreat down to the lower-deck to keep your guests fed and watered. At the front of the cockpit there is seating for three enthusiastic navigators at the impressively-equipped helm station, where you will discover thruster and trim tab controls, a joystick, Simrad display panels, VHF Radio and a Seakeeper stabilizer switch.
No mere dayboat, this is a vessel with serious lower-deck capacity, boasting room for up to six overnight guests across three cabins, with a trio of heads on this level as well as a fully equipped galley and an eight-seater dinette lounge. The galley has all the Bosch appliances required to concoct lavish meals, while spaces on this level benefit from bleached oak surfaces, mirrored wall panels, plush carpeting, panoramic glazing, and recessed mood lighting. There is an en-suite VIP double to the bow, a port-side bunk berth amidship and an owner’s stateroom to aft with hanging closets, a queen-sized bed and a bathroom with a waterfall shower.
A pair of 1400MHP MAN V12 diesel engines provide thrilling top speeds of up to 40 knots with comfortable cruising hitting the 35-knot mark. The Virtus 63 shares the same deep-V hull design that made the Vertigo 63 such a nimble performer, and its 17-degree deadrise and fine entry eats up the waves with ease, efficiency and superb poise.
