The Rivamare 38 is an exceptional 38.11-foot powerboat crafted in 2017 by the iconic Riva shipyard, now a member of the acclaimed Ferretti parent group. With a full beam of 11.5 feet, this stunning vessel offers plenty of space for lounging, dining, and quite simply inspiring envy along the French Riviera or wherever you may be docked. The glossy, reflective mahogany bow recalls the 38’s rich heritage, which reaches back to the golden age of yachts when the likes of Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot graced Riva’s Aquarama in the 1960s. But Riva hasn’t rested on its laurels. This boat’s sleek dark grey (or optional white) fiberglass superstructure and stainless steel brightwork is undeniably contemporary, and hints at the phenomenal power and performance behind the Rivamare 38, with its inboard pair of D6 400 DPH Volvo Penta engines which reach top speeds of 40 knots and a 31-knot cruising speed.
At the stern is a fold-down swim platform with two angled sunlounges on either side of the glorious mahogany steps. Up two gentle steps and you’ll find a three-seater sunpad behind the cockpit area. Two storage compartments sit on either side of the hatch, one of which can be expanded to house a Seabob.
The cockpit is inviting and comfortable, sheltered from the wind by the wraparound windshield and can be further protected by an electro-hydraulic retractable awning. Behind the helm station, you’ll find a hidden mahogany bar drawer can be pulled out to shake up some cocktails, which can be enjoyed by up to 8 passengers on the C-shaped sofa around the folding mahogany table.
The two-seater helm station is just as beautiful as the rest of the boat, featuring two integrated control systems, including Joystick and a docking mode function which makes takes the hassle out of sideways mooring. The 7-inch display screen interface can be used in conjunction with classic analogue instruments. A Seakeeper NG5 stabilizer provides an even smoother ride, drastically minimizing any movement when in dock.
Below deck, the useable space is astonishing. This is clearly not a typical powerboat. A small galley, a bathroom with a shower, and a living room with a sumptuous couch that converts into a queen bed are all seamlessly appointed on the perfectly proportioned lower deck. There is plenty of integrated space, too, for plates and cutlery, a standard 65-liter fridge and, most importantly on this Italian vessel, an espresso machine. Cabin shutters can be opened or closed automatically, and a convertible curtain-like shield can be drawn over it to protect your guests from the sun.
