The Riva Iseo is a 27-foot day cruiser that was launched by the iconic, Ferretti-owned boat-building brand Riva back in 2012. Though the smallest vessel in the Riva fleet, the Iseo has made quite the splash with buyers and critics worldwide, bagging the title for boat of the year in the “Performance & Superboat” category at the 2012 London Boat Show, winning the award for “Croatian Boat of the Year” in 2015 and being named as one of the Robb Report’s “Best of the Best” in 2012.
Just one glance at this sleek model is enough to tell you why it has become an instant classic in boating circles. Beautiful touches such as glossy mahogany, retro curves, sparkling steel brightwork, a leather-lined cockpit and a wrap-around, tempered glass windshield were developed in partnership with naval stylists Officina Italiana Design, combining Riva heritage with striking modernity.
At rest your guests will enjoy relaxing out on a foredeck lined in striped mahogany, while there is space for up to six in a cockpit that is even larger than the one to be found aboard the 33 Aquariva Super. The extra space in here means up to six guests can relax across a subtly curving transom sofa, on a pair of bench seats to port and starboard, or on the two forward-facing helm chairs. All seating in here is clad either in hand-stitched leather or in your choice of bespoke upholstery, and these comfortable and stylish seats contrast with mahogany paneling, pop-up tables topped in varnished timber, and an array of smooth grab-rails and fixtures crafted from stainless steel. At the very front of the cockpit there is a starboard helm station that blends classic looks and chrome-lined analogue instrumentation with next-generation equipment like Navionics cartography and GPS, a custom-built steering wheel, thruster controls and an iPad docking station. Though open to the elements, the cockpit can be quickly covered with an automatic, integrated Bimini roof for those days when Lake Como experiences a touch of inclement weather.
This runabout yacht boasts a seductive sloping stern that is covered with a double-width sunpad and tiered steps down to a bathing platform with a jet-ski hook, while those who like to poke around in the engine can simply lift up the sunpad for easy access.
There are up to five engine options available aboard the Riva Iseo, including a cutting-edge hybrid water-jet propulsion system that can be used on inland waterways with emissions restrictions, such as Lake Tahoe. You can opt for a Volvo Penta V8 300CE diesel or a Volvo Penta D4 300A engine if you go with models produced after 2015, while a single Yanmar 320 8LV or a Mercruiser 377 MAG DTS sterndrive also provide competitive performance. Top speeds depend on which option you go for, but range from 37 to 44 knots, with cruising speeds easily topping the 30-knot mark. This yacht’s resin-infused fiberglass hull makes it a great option for coastal cruising as well as lake-bound joyrides, while a fuel tank holding 87 US gallons offers a moderate cruising range of up to 250 nautical miles.
