The Riva Domino 88 is an 88-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic, Ferretti-owned boat-building brand Riva back in late 2015. Designed in partnership with Officina Italiana Design, the Domino 88 boasts a razor-sharp hull in London grey and a smooth, curving superstructure with bridge flares in light silver for a futuristic and aerodynamic look from profile. Powerful engines, a host of unique design interventions, a plethora of outdoor lounge space and a cool, contemporary interior treatment make this sporty model one of the most impressive Riva Yachts to ever leave their boatyard.
A tightly focused sportbridge lined in weatherproof teak defies gravity to hang elegantly above the main deck cockpit. A double sunpad with headrests to aft is joined by a curving U-shaped seating bench nestled up against the front of the bridge, while located dead in the center is a walk-around helm station with superb visibility. One level down and you will find a cool, low-slung lounge retreat out on a foredeck comprising a Portuguese bridge-style sofa with an extending table and twin, marina-facing sunpads. A teak-lined aft-cockpit to stern impresses with a transom sofa, a dining sofa with a breakfast table and a fully-equipped wet bar console with a grill, chilled storage and an icemaker. Side steps lead down to a hydraulic, full-beam bathing platform and access to a capacious transom garage that can host a PWC, a Seabob and a Williams jet tender.
A fully opening, cinema-screen crystal window and a sliding glass door to the rear of the main deck salon flood this sophisticated living space with natural light, a feature that is further enhanced by double-height side mullions. Poltrona Frau and Knoll furnishings sit on either plush carpet or golden oak, while dark timber surrounds, a high gloss ceiling, recessed lighting and stainless-steel fixtures offer a sedate and restrained feel. A trio of white leather sofas in the salon surround a bespoke coffee table, while a formal, steel-edged dining table seats up to seven guests. Up front you will find steps down to the lower deck as well as a starboard helm featuring Simrad display panels, Furuno GPS, electro-hydraulic steering, trim tab and thruster controls, steering compasses, Robertson autopilot and VHF radio.
A sky-lit sunken galley with an atrium-feel, Corian work surfaces, parquet flooring and dark timber cabinets features Miele appliances like a hob, a convection oven and a fridge, and acts somewhat as a lobby to the other lower-deck rooms. Four en-suite cabins provide sleeping space for up to eight overnight guests, with a pair of forward doubles and a starboard twin boasting elongated hull glazing. An amidship owner’s stateroom, meanwhile, boasts a walk-in closet, a side sofa, a work-desk, a king-sized bed, mullioned windows and a huge bathroom with couple’s sinks. There are also crew quarters for two down on this level, featuring private access, bathroom facilities and a mini dinette.
A pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96L diesel engines offer top speeds hitting the 40-knot mark with cruising speeds clocking in at approximately 35 knots. At this lower pace you can expect a cruising range of 330 nautical miles, while twin Seakeeper zero-speed stabilizers eliminate roll while at rest.
