The Riva 90 Argo is a 93-foot luxury motor yacht with a flybridge that was launched by the iconic, Ferretti-owned boat-building brand Riva in late 2019. An ultra-contemporary profile with futuristic curves, dramatic glazing, a faceted metallic body in Regal Silver and an aggressive, double-height straked bow is joined by dare-devil details such as an asymmetric sunroof on the bridge, a carbon-fiber hull and Hi-Tech solutions throughout. An instant hit with buyers around the world, Riva sold over 20 of these models to discerning clients before the first hull even touched the water, including one to sports star David Beckham. Critics were just as impressed, with the 90 Argo winning the award for “Best Motor Yacht over 80ft” at the Oceanway China Annual Yacht Awards 2020 and bagging the title for “Best Interior Design” at the 2019 World Yacht Trophies held in Cannes.
The flybridge’s sleek and aerodynamic hard-top canopy immediately catches the eye from profile, while guests fortunate enough to relax in its shade will admire the asymmetric glazed sunroof that allows for views straight up to the clouds. At the rear of the bridge there is room to plonk down a jacuzzi spa-pool or a set of sun-loungers, while across the center of this teak-lined space you will discover low-slung Ottomans, a timber-lined walk-in wet bar with a grill and an icemaker and an L-shaped leather sofa with a metal-rimmed dining table. Up front there is forward seating for up to four snugly positioned behind a sloping Venturi-style windscreen and an upper-helm station with views to the far horizon. Alongside this there is a companionway door for access to the raised pilothouse where you can enjoy all-weather piloting. This helm features an integrated LOOP bridge that looks like something out of the Starship Enterprise, and boasts electro-hydraulic steering, NAVIOP-Simrad electronics, a host of touch-screen panels, thruster controls, joystick maneuvering and Seakeeper stabilizer switches.
Guests are spoilt for choice across the main-deck, where a foredeck lounge with an integrated U-shaped sofa is matched by a dual-use sunpad in the aft-cockpit that can be turned into booth-style seating with a table. Side steps at the stern lead down to a full-beam bathing platform and a transom garage that is large enough to store a Williams Sportjet 395 and a jet-ski.
An interior crafted by Officina Italiana Design wows with black leather paneling, English Walnut surrounds, glossy chrome accents, plush carpeting, stainless steel fixtures, richly lacquered ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and bespoke furnishings from Italian designers like Paola Lenti, Minotti and Acerbis. It seems like every square inch in here has been masterfully crafted for a sense of intuitive elegance, with even the smallest details like door handles or light-switches bearing a distinctive Italian flair. The cool and restrained salon features an L-shaped sofa, an armchair and a custom-made coffee table to port, with hand-made cabinetry and a wet-bar facility to starboard. Further forward there is an eight-seater dining table sitting deftly between a pair of doors with access to the side deck. Across the front half of the main-deck you will find an enclosed, Euro-style galley with Corian counters and all the modern appliances required for extended voyages. There is also a palatial, full-beam owner’s stateroom up here with an entrance lobby, a dressing room, a chaise-longue, a king-sized bed, bedside cabinets, a work-desk, a skylight, private access to the foredeck and a huge bathroom clad in veined Calacatta marble that features bench-style seating in the wet room.
There is further rest space on the lower-deck, where three double staterooms, including a full-beam suite amidship, boast marble-clad en-suites, panoramic hull glazing and masses of storage. You can swap the full-beam room for a pair of twins if you like, while crew space with private facilities for up to two sits nestled up by the bow.
Jason and his Argonauts would’ve loved commanding this powerful yacht, which can reach full-throttle speeds of up to 30 knots thanks to a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M96 diesel engines. At cruising speeds of 26 knots, you will find your own Golden Fleece in no time at all, and sustain such a pace across a range of around 300 nautical miles at half-loads.
