The Princess V72 is a 73-foot motor yacht launched in 2011 that is still in production today. An undeniably sporty vessel built with high-performance in mind, the V72 benefits from a hard-top cockpit, ample entertaining space and plenty of accommodation for overnight trips out on the water.
Those who wish to be at one with the elements will adore this modern vessel. The foredeck includes a twin Movida sunpad and a fitted Portuguese Bridge sofa with teak coffee table, for plenty of rest and relaxation room out front. Side decks enclosed by sturdy stainless-steel guardrails lead back towards an open-air aft deck where a four-pad sunbed with headrests sits atop a sizeable tender garage with plenty of room for modern water toys. Also on the aft deck is a large U-shaped sofa with seating space for up to 9 guests who can dine at the outdoor teak table and a further loveseat to port. A large, full-beam hydraulic swimming platform will be popular with those who like to get their feet wet, and like the rest of the external spaces is decked out in high-quality authentic teak.
Even when stepping inside the main deck cockpit you can still feel connected to sun, sea and sky thanks to swooping knife-insert windows cutting across the superstructure, while transparent sliding glass doors to the rear, and a retractable sunroof above the helm give a free-flowing and breezy feel. There is room inside for a U-shaped sofa in quartz-tone leather with matching Shagreen leather coffee table, a showpiece circular settee, stylishly fitted to the curved staircase, as well as a fully equipped helm station with leather Besenzoni chairs. The salon is kitted out in walnut with wengewood flooring and black ebony wave wood cabinets for a classic and sedate internal atmosphere.
Below-deck there is room for up to six guests across three ensuite bedrooms, with a rear crew quarters for two accessed via a transom door. The amidship master stateroom features an in-built workstation, side sofa and a queen-sized island bed, and is afforded plenty of natural light due to the installation of single-screen trapezoidal panes or four-panelled mullioned windows to port and starboard. The galley, equipped with Avonite worktops, sink, fridge, wetbar and oven facilities, is more than large enough to rustle up the hearty meals you’ll require when taking the Princess V72 out on longer voyages.
Top speeds of up to 40 knots are the work of twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT diesel engines, while an oceanic range of around 300 miles is achievable when cruising at lower speeds. Variable speed bow and stern thrusters, a Bernard Olesinksi-designed planing monohull with shallow draft and a wave piercing bow, and ZF joystick controls ensure that this is a fun, nimble and safe ride across a range of open water conditions.
