Released to the public in 2006 and still produced today, the Princess V65 represented a glamorous new chapter in the Princess Yachts story when launched. This 66-foot sports motoryacht with a generous beam of almost 17 feet marries high performance and blue-water cruising with a classic European style and the sort of space and amenities that North American clients will love. This yacht proved so popular among the Princess customer base that the firm decided to update its design in 2017 for a more contemporary feel and even greater performance.
The first thing guests stepping aboard this luxury vessel will notice is the expansive, open atmosphere. Windows are large and wrap-around, sunroofs open up fully to the elements, and every inch of deck space from aft to bow is configured for comfort and relaxation. Lengthy foredeck space lined in teak boasts a modular double sunpad and a Portuguese Bridge-style sofa right in front of the cockpit for a fully functional al fresco party space. The Portuguese Bridge, of course, also offers extra protection from the elements while piloting your vessel from the fully equipped helm station. Walk-around side decks, enclosed by stainless steel guardrails, offer ease of access back towards the aft-deck, which has to be one of the largest on a yacht of this size. A centerpiece modular sunpad for two hides a spacious tender garage, while a U-shaped sofa surrounds an outdoor varnished teak dining table. There is also an extra-large hydraulic swimming platform at the stern that is big enough to set up a pair of chairs and a cocktail table.
Stepping towards the cockpit, which opens up to the aft thanks to the use of triple sliding glass doors, you will find an L-shaped sofa with a teak breakfast table, a wet bar and a full kitchen with ceramic hob, convection oven and optional barbecue. The free-flowing space continues all the way through to the salon and cockpit where a six-seater U-shaped Ultramarine leather sofa occupies the port side. All of this space is lined with fine quality teak, finished with stainless steel or laminated fiberglass and accented with remote controlled LED lights.
Below deck there are two full-beam, en-suite master staterooms with large double beds. The below-helm suite boasts storage cabinets, a fitted sofa and workspaces while the forward stateroom offers a plush and elegant raised rest space ideal for curling up with your favorite book. Two further guest cabins offering twin beds and a bunk style set-up provide for a total overnight occupancy of up to 8 guests, plus crew quarters to the stern. Newer models boast angular, knife-insert windows for a dramatic profile and a sense of space and light below deck, while the original V65 comes with classic porthole windows for that vintage nautical feel.
A Bernard Olesinski-designed modified deep-vee hull with pronounced chines offers a good degree of lift while accelerating across the water, not to mention decreased drag for a greater fuel efficiency. Both original and updated Princess V65 models are powered by twin MAN diesel engines, with top speeds of up to 38 knots, while Seakeeper SK9 Gyro stabilizers keep you secure and balanced as you make your way across the open seas.
Found across the Mediterranean, Gulft Coast and Caribbean island ports, the Princess V65 has remained enduringly popular with those who seek to buy new or used models and is an ideal choice for character guests. This yacht has also been showered with accolades by industry insiders, winning the 2018 prize for “Best Sportscruiser over 55ft” at the Asia Boating Awards held in Singapore.
