The Princess V56 is a 57-foot family-sized sports yacht that was produced by Princess between 2009 and 2011. Designed for speed and pleasure, this yacht is ideal for weekend cruisers who want to have fun out on the water.
Perhaps the most distinctive aspect of the Princess V56 is the yacht’s double-length hydraulic swimming platform to aft, one of the largest you will ever see on a vessel of this size. Lined in teak with extra room leading to steps on the port size, this space will doubtless attract those who wish to paddle, snorkel or set off on jet-skiing adventures. The platform also doubles as a dinghy storage, while further space for large, modern water toys is available in the below-helm tender garage. Moving up one level to the aft-deck there is a triple-pad Movida sun-lounger, neatly situated on top of the garage, with another sunpad located out on the sizeable foredeck.
Step inside and you will find a single-level main deck area boasting an aft cockpit with three linear skylights above the helm, a retractable electro-hydraulic sunroof, sloped windshield and curved side windows for ample natural light. Take a seat on one of the two U-shaped side sofas in the salon, one with a coffee table and another with a teak dining table, or rustle up cocktails and grilled lobster at the electric barbecue griddle and wet bar on the main deck. Walls and flooring here are decked out in light oak with a satin finish for a restrained ambience, while two comfortable seats at the starboard helm station mean that owner-operators can remain part of the in-crowd while piloting their vessel. The main deck area also benefits from the use of a fitted Bose surround-sound system, so that guests from bow to stern can party the night away.
Though the Princess V56 is a compact sports cruiser, the downstairs fits in enough space for up to 6 overnight guests across two staterooms and a bunk-berth. Make sure to get first refusal on the master V-berth to bow, where a queen-sized island bed sits directly below a skylight and storage is cleverly hidden in side panels. There is also a large below-deck galley with black Corian worktops, a 3-zone ceramic hob, microwave and convection oven, not to mention a breakfast room with an L-shaped sofa and dining table.
Performance is at the heart of what makes the V56 stand out from the competition. A sleek and ergonomic superstructure is bolted to a Bernard Olesinski-designed deep V-hull crafted from GRP fiberglass for a lightweight ride in bluewater conditions. Twin Volvo D13 900HP engines provide rapid acceleration to top speeds of up to 38 knots, more than enough to leave rival yachts in your slipstream. The use of power steering, electric bow and stern thrusters as well as trim-tabs keep this vessel nimble and agile as it works its way around tight marinas and jagged coastlines. Navigational equipment is supplied by industry leaders Raymarine, including radar, GPS, chartplotter and depth-sounder for safe and confident journeys out to sea.
