Produced between 2002 and 2004 and still in high demand today, the Princess V46 is a 48-foot sportscruiser with a modern feel and high-energy performance. Designed in partnership with renowned naval architect Bernard Olesinski, this irresistibly stylish model sold out as soon as it was launched to the public at the 2003 Southampton Boat Show. The yacht’s hand-laid fiberglass deep-V hull was extensively tested on the rough waters of the English Channel prior to release to ensure that this is that rare sportscruiser that can withstand true blue-water conditions.
The yacht’s main deck is topped by an impressively modern semi-hard-top cockpit, internally lined with natural cherrywood, teak panelling and over-sized stainless-steel fixtures. Two U-shaped white leather sofas with marine blue piping provide plenty of room to socialise with guests as you pilot your Princess V46 out into the Mediterranean, while an electric sunroof can be opened on days with finer weather. This main deck area can also be fitted with a barbecue grill for those who want to quickly cook their catch. A modular sun-pad sits right in the center of the yacht’s foredeck, while another contoured sun-pad is situated to the aft deck, providing plenty of room for sunbathing. This rear pad hides a spacious tender garage, and also leads down to a generously proportioned full-beam swimming platform.
Below deck there is a sedate lounge area boasting durable Amtico flooring with a U-shaped fitted sofa to port surrounding a teak dining table large enough for four diners. Also included is a dinette with Avonite worktops, a ceramic, two-burner stove, convection oven and grill which large and well-equipped enough to try out many a culinary experiment. A full-beam master stateroom occupies the bow, while a rear cabin below-helm offers space for a double bed or two singles for an overall overnight capacity for four guests.
Shaft-driven inboard Volvo Penta TAMD75P diesel engines provide best in class levels of performance, with a top speed of 35 knots at full throttle, while 1300 litres of fuel storage will keep you going should you wish to embark on longer journeys out to sea. Like many other Princess yachts the engines are fitted to integral beds to reduce both noise and vibration, ideal for night-time cruising. Hydro-electric trim tabs and high-speed rudders provide stability and responsiveness as you cruise this powerful yacht through a range of open water conditions, while a level operating trim and slightly tapering bow provide excellent levels of visibility from the cockpit. Owner-operators will also enjoy manning a helm station that is fitted with the latest electronic equipment such as GPS, Furuno display system, digital plotter, docking camera and depth-sounders.
