The award-winning, 42-foot Princess V40 is a modern sportscruiser yacht that was first launched by Princess in 2017. It was named “Best Sports Cruiser Up To 45ft” at the 2017 Asia Boating Awards held in Singapore, and it has proved an immense hit with buyers around the world looking for a quick and stylish entry-level sports yacht.
The V40 boasts a lightweight cockpit console with superb visibility through its wraparound windows as well as plenty of room for relaxation and entertainment. The cockpit is open to the rear and also features an electronic retractable sunroof for a truly alfresco main deck feel. The main deck floor is lined from helm to aft in teak, while the interior is styled in a light palette of white fiberglass and silver or Rovere oak for an unmistakeably contemporary feel. There is a two-seater port sofa across from the starboard helm station so that up to four guests can relax indoors while sheltering from adverse outdoor conditions. Waterproof Fusion speakers across this deck provide supreme surround sound for when you choose to drop the anchor and party late into the night.
The open aft deck features a U-shaped transom sofa surrounding a teak dining table and a wet-bar station in oyster-grey Avonite with an electric grill, along with steps leading down to a full-beam swimming platform with room for dinghy storage and access to a nifty garage for inflatables. There is also the option for an extending modular sun-seat at transom should you require extra sunbathing space. The elongated foredeck has been configured to expand the amount of outdoor room aboard this compact vessel, with a double Movida sunbed providing a marina-facing relaxation area enclosed with stainless steel guard rails.
The below-deck area is a popular two stateroom layout, with a master stateroom to the bow featuring a pocket-sprung double bed and knife-insert windows, while the twin berth is large enough to feature a love-seat side sofa. Trapezoid windows allow for plenty of natural light in lower-deck areas such as the galley, which hosts a double-ring gas hob, convection oven, stainless steel sink and a U-shaped dining sofa with teak table.
Performance is as sporty as one would expect on a V-class Princess yacht, with twin duo-prop stern drive Volvo D6-340DP engines providing top speeds of up to 38 knots. A planing V-hull with a straked bow from Bernard Olesinski provides exceptional stability at speed, while a Volvo joystick and thruster controls ensure superb agility while steering into marina settings. Navigational equipment comes from Garmin, and includes chart plotter, radar, depth-sounder and GPS.
