The Princess S65 is a 66-foot sportbridge yacht that was first released to the public at the 2015 Southampton Boat Show and remains in production today. This yacht combines the agility and speed of a high-end sports cruiser with the sort of luxury, space and amenities of a superyacht for a truly modern offering.
This compact sportsbridge features seating for up to five up by the helm station, with a further fitted sofa located in the rear wet-bar area that includes an electric barbecue grill. The sportbridge can be fitted with a Bimini top to protect you from the full glare of the sun, while stainless steel handrails located throughout provide plenty of grip to keep you safe when moving over the water at speed.
The large teak-lined aft deck features a transom sofa with an extending table and a wet-bar console that links directly to the aft cockpit galley for convenient food and drinks service. There is also a three-pad sunbed sitting atop a tender garage that is large enough to accommodate modern water toys like a Williams 325 Rib. There are side-steps down to a full-beam swimming platform that can be lowered into the water thanks to electro-hydraulic controls, ideal for both swimming and setting off on water sports jaunts. To the foredeck there is another sunpad as well as a Portuguese bridge-style sofa for marina-facing sunbathing to round out the comprehensive bow to stern outdoor areas.
Stepping indoors through triple sliding glass doors we find an internal cockpit space that is illuminated with natural light thanks to curved single-pane windows that trace the sides of the yacht’s fiberglass superstructure, as well as mullioned skylight panes to the helm that are built into the retractable electronic sunroof. The aft galley, topped with Avonite or marble worktops, features a four-zone ceramic hob, convection oven, full-height fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. The cockpit includes a dining lounge with white leather sofa, a U-shaped sofa in the salon, light oak cabinetry that hides gadgets such as an icemaker and a UHD TV and a pair of leather helm seats. Walls and floors across both internal decks are lined in Rovere oak, Alba oak or walnut, with the option of satin or high gloss finishes and lavish carpeting and upholstery sourced from Princess Yacht’s parent company LVMH.
Below-deck spaces benefit from large and dramatic knife-insert windows that swoop across the graceful lines of the yacht’s sides, with opening, water-tight portholes set into the glass itself. The full-beam master stateroom is big enough for a king-sized island bed, a walk-in closet, loveseat and workstation or vanity desk. There are three other guest rooms, two with ensuite facilities, to provide for up to 8 overnight guests who can sleep in supreme comfort, as well as rear crew quarters, making this one of the most accommodating sports yachts you will ever see.
High performance speed and agility is at the heart of this fun yacht, and the Princess S65 can be fitted with either twin Caterpillar C18A engines for top speeds of 34 knots, or twin MAN V12 1400 engines for top speeds of 38 knots. Variable speed bow and stern thrusters, a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer and a Bernard Olesinki-designed hull ensure that this yacht is nimble and responsive on the turn, as well as superbly balanced in choppy waters.
