The Princess 70 also called the F70, is a 69-foot flybridge yacht launched by Princess in 2018 and the flagship of the brand’s F series boats. The 70 has proven immensely popular since it was released, especially in North America where the demand for flybridge yachts is the strongest.
The flybridge is covered with a fiberglass hardtop with open aspects to the front, rear and sides, for commanding views out to sea and convenient shelter from sun and rain. At some 286-square-feet this is one of the most spacious flybridges you will find on a yacht of this size, and the teak-lined space manages to fit in a pair of modular sofas to starboard, one surrounding a large teak-coffee table, as well as an adjoining Movida sunpad to the rear. On the port side you will find steps down to the aft, a walk-in wet bar console with an electric barbecue grill and an upper helm station with a pair of comfortable piloting seats.
The foredeck here fits a walk-through sofa onto the Portuguese bridge with a modular sunpad facing towards the bow for secluded, marina-facing sunbathing. Wide side decks lead back towards the aft, where a U-shaped transom sofa surrounds a dining table, and a wet bar setting connects to the aft galley through the use of a hydraulic hopper window for the convenient serving of snacks and refreshments. There are also steps down to a teak-lined full-beam swimming platform that doubles as dinghy storage.
Stepping through sliding-glass doors framed in gleaming stainless steel, you will find an internal living area lined in oak or walnut that remains bright and breezy even on the dullest days thanks to extensive curved windows tracing the side of the yacht’s fiberglass superstructure. The F70 benefits from the use of Princess’s proprietary Allure design package, for sumptuous detailing, luxurious comfort and impeccable style. Owners can customize finishes and upholstery to their heart’s content, utilizing Japanese wall motifs, sedate suede, authentic leather, bronze tint etching, metallic piping and more. You will find the Allure touch across the cockpit’s internal living space, where up to four sofas, including a large U-shaped sofa to port, offer plenty of space to kick back and relax. The aft galley kitchen, meanwhile, features a four-zone ceramic hob, convection oven, full height fridge-freezer, stainless steel double-sink and worktops in Avonite or white marble.
Below deck there is room for four guest cabins, as well as a twin berth for crew that can be accessed via a transom door. The full-beam, amidship owner’s stateroom comes with its own private staircase for the utmost in privacy, and boasts a side sofa, workstation or vanity desk, lavish ensuite and two closets. The owner’s stateroom is well-lit thanks to single-pane, trapezoid windows with views out across the seas, while the other rooms, including a pair of twins and a master V-berth, feature dramatic knife-insert windows.
Despite its luxurious amenities and finishes, the Princess F70 is no mere floating palace, but a high-performance vehicle capable of long voyages in bluewater conditions. Diesel engines range from twin MAN V8 1200MHPs with a top speed of 33 knots to the upgraded MAN V12 1400MHP engines that can deliver full throttle speeds of over 36 knots. With a fuel tank capable of holding up to 4100 liters, a resin-infused deep V hull designed by Bernard Olesinski, and Raymarine electronics at the helm, this yacht is not just for lounging or entertaining, but built for exploring, too.
