The Princess 72 MY is a 73-foot open flybridge motor-yacht that was first launched in 2010 and still built at the Princess shipyard in Plymouth, England to this day. Boasting sleek European lines, North American-style amenities and a classic Bernard Olesinski-designed, resin-infused V-hull, the 72 MY is popular choice with weekend cruisers around the world.
This yacht’s spacious flybridge is bound to be the hub for guests while this vessel is on the move. An upper helm station, fitted with double leather seating, provides unimpeded 360-degree views while piloting, and a vast U-shaped sofa hugging a foldable teak dining table provides a superb space to relax and entertain. An outdoor wet bar and barbecue grill to port means you do not have to retreat back to the galley to provide mixed drinks and chargrilled food to your guests, who can take advantage of the comfortable rear sunpad to soak up the rays. The teak-lined flybridge also boasts a lofty radar station and adaptable space at the back for dinghy storage.
One level down and there is yet more sublime outdoor space, including a fitted Portuguese Bridge sofa and Movida sun-lounger on the foredeck, as well as a large transom sofa on the semi-sheltered aft deck. Port and starboard steps lead down to a full-beam hydraulic swimming platform, and a rear tender garage is large enough not only to fit modern water toys but can also be reconfigured to provide ensuite sleeping quarters for up to 2 crew members.
Stepping indoors the single-level main cockpit boasts a large saloon with hook-shaped sofa, a loveseat, dining room with table and an angular kitchen and cocktail bar with marble top work spaces that is cleverly separated from the living area through the dramatic use of a translucent and finely-etched glass wall. Expansive, double-height windows swoop across the cockpit walls to provide unparalleled natural light, while joinery and panelling comes in your choice of cherry or walnut, with satin or gloss finishes. The main deck helm station is fitted with all the latest gadgetry required to pilot your vessel safely and confidently to the top marinas in the world, including GPS and chartplotter. The Princess 72 MY also benefits from a full entertainment system, including hidden HD TV and an integrated Bose surround sound system for when you want to turn the sound up to 11.
Below deck there is room for 8 overnight guests across three staterooms and a twin berth. Bedrooms benefit from six mullioned panes built into the hull, as well as numerous porthole windows and skylights. The amidship master stateroom occupies the full-beam of the Princess 72 MY and is large enough to host a queen-sized bed, love seat and work desk, while its marble-clad ensuite hosts a walk-in shower and couple’s sink.
The Princess 72 MY comes installed with twin MTU M93 or twin Caterpillar C32A engines for top speeds of around 36 knots, and with 5000 litres in the fuel tank this vessel has an oceangoing range of some 340 nautical miles at cruising speeds.
