A 64-foot flybridge yacht with a striking, ergonomic exterior and sleek European lines, the Princess 64 was first launched to the public in 2010 and remains in production today. One of the more modern designs offered by Princess, the yacht nevertheless retains a classic feel thanks to the use of high-quality authentic materials across the interior, and a V-hull designed by eminent naval architect Bernard Olesinski.
The Princess 64’s open flybridge is a teak-lined delight designed for lounging, with a white leather U-shaped sofa surrounding a teak coffee table and adjoining a triple pad sunbed with views out towards the aft and the waves beyond. Up front there is a two-seater pilot station at a helm stocked with the full set of controls for elevated steering, and a wet bar and barbecue console for the mixing of drinks and the preparation of grilled food. When sailing in unfavorable conditions there is the option for a Bimini roof, while a perspex windshield and aft dodger provides plenty of protection from spray when accelerating through counter currents.
On the main deck there is a comfortable transom sofa on the semi-sheltered aft deck, and the option of a sunpad on the foredeck. There are steps down to an elongated hydraulic swimming platform, a hidden passerelle and a large tender garage that can also be converted to crew quarters. Triple Italian sliding-glass doors from floor to ceiling separate inside from out, and when open provide the sort of expansive and free-flowing single-level living space typical of a much larger yacht. Double-height curved side windows trace the sleek lines of the Princess 64’s swooping superstructure to provide plenty of natural light and views to sea and sky. Interiors include a full-beam salon with a U-shaped sofa, settee and coffee table, with galley space separated from the salon by a single-step and a translucent glass screen. Here you will find a Movida worktop fitted with four-zone ceramic hob, convection oven and fridge-freezer, along with a five-seat dining table. The interior is lined with Black Cherry, American Walnut or Rovere Oak for a sedate and refined atmosphere, and floors are laid with fine loop carpeting for exquisite comfort underfoot.
Steps down to the accommodation deck are positioned next to the starboard helm station, and lead you towards two master staterooms, a twin berth and a bunk cabin with total occupancy for up to 8 guests. The master V-berth occupies the bow and benefits from elongated portholes and a strip skylight providing more sunlight than is typically found in similarly situated staterooms. The below-helm stateroom, meanwhile, includes a marble-lined ensuite, a queen-sized island bed, work desk and fitted chaise longue, and includes views to port and starboard through four-panelled mullioned windows.
Despite the spaciousness of the Princess 64, this is also a yacht built with performance in mind. 5-bladed propellers in nickel-aluminium bronze, powered by twin Volvo diesel D13-900 or twin Caterpillar C18A engines can roar you on to top speeds of up to 34 knots. Trim-tabs and bow-thrusters offer that extra level of agility when gliding into tight marina settings, while double strakes and a hard chine that remains raised above the waterline when on the move offer a smooth ride with reduced drag.
