The Princess 56 is a classically-styled flybridge sports cruiser that was launched to market in 2012 and remains in production today. Ideal for entertaining and leisurely weekend cruising, the 56 also boasts a significant amount of below-deck accommodation for those who wish to embark on longer voyages out to sea.
The large flybridge extends all the way to transom, providing a surprising wealth of space, and takes full advantage of these dimensions by hosting a wet-bar with fridge and BBQ grill, a large ten-seater leather sofa joined to a sprawling leather sunpad and a pair of helm seats at the upper level steering station. The flybridge deck boasts weather-proof, washed teak floorboards and can be fitted with a Bimini soft-top roof for extra protection from rain and sun.
One level down brings you to an expansive teak-lined aft deck with a U-shaped transom sofa situated around a teak coffee table, and further steps down to a full-beam, hydraulic swimming platform. A three-pad modular Movida sunbed on the foredeck is accessed via nifty side-decks enclosed by stainless steel guardrails for further sunbathing opportunities.
Stepping through triple-sliding glass doors there is a walnut-lined and ivory-carpeted main salon with a love-seat and a cream, U-shaped leather sofa surrounding a coffee table, and a few steps towards the bow brings you to a dining area with kitchen galley. The galley, topped in glistening Kokura, features a two-zone induction hob, convection oven, large sink and fridge freezer, and is spacious enough to rustle up gourmet meals for guests. Lower helm controls include Raymarine e125 chart plotter, Raymarine radar, Xenta joystick and autopilot settings. The cockpit benefits from striking curved, double-height windows for unimpeded, 360 degree vision and plenty of natural light. Indoor and outdoor areas on main deck and flybridge are also equipped with a hi-tech Sonos music system with 6 integrated speakers, a superb option for partying the night away to crisp and loud music.
Below deck there is a full-beam, amidship master stateroom featuring single-pane widescreen windows with panoramic views out over the surface of the seas, a king-sized island bed, side sofa and cabinet space. A further master stateroom to the bow is a sedate space with a queen-sized bed, while a further twin cabin brings the total overnight guest occupancy to six. Further crew space can be fitted in the transom tender garage should you wish to have your Princess 56 captained by an experienced pilot.
Sportscar-level agility is provided by the use of variable speed bow and stern thrusters, dual station trim tabs and an ergonomic, Bernard Olesinski-designed hull that slices through the waves as a hot knife through churned butter. Buyer’s choice of twin Caterpillar C12A or twin Volvo D13-800 engines provides top speeds of up to 34 knots, more than quick enough to leave rivals yachts behind, while a fuel tank holding some 2650 litres will keep you with plenty of diesel in reserve for longer trips.
