The Prestige 550S is a sporty 59.8-foot power cruiser launched by the acclaimed Groupe Beneteau-owned French brand in 2013 at the Düsseldorf Boat Show. Part of the second generation of Prestige’s S-line, a fleet of coupé motor yachts, the 550S combines strong performance and comfortable cruising with chic living spaces and panoramic views.

A portside passerelle offers safe entry aboard the cockpit, which features a sunpad that sits across the transom and can be raised to create a settee back, perfect for transitioning between lounging to al fresco meals around the dining table. An electric awning provides shelter from the sun or rain as needed, while a hydraulic swim platform that will store, launch, and retrieve your tender doubles as a perfectly gentle launch pad for swimmers. The foredeck features a massive sunpad that takes up much of the deck, inviting guests to lounge, sunbathe, or read as the waves lap gently against the boat.
The harmonious layout of the salon is enhanced by sedate tones, from a choice of sunbrella or cuddy taupe awnings and seating colors to upholstery options that range from light tan and ecru to bold browns.
Entering this space from the sliding glass door that opens up to the cockpit, you will find the aft kitchen galley to port. The galley’s L-shape maximizes space, with a four-burner stove, stainless-steel sink, fridge-freezer, and plenty of workspace. A kitchen island offers further counter and serving and zones off the galley, allowing it to remain an independent space while remaining open to the cockpit and salon. A large sunroof retracts above the helmstation, extending from port to starboard.
The forward salon is raised up a step and features a large sofa to port and two chairs are built into a stunning U-shaped frame. A folding table and freestanding chairs serve up to 10. This easily turns into a living room with a pop-up TV, a further facing sofa to starboard, and stunning 360-degree views from the glass panels that predominate throughout. The lower starboard helm features a comfortable two-seater bench seat with two Raymarine displays, steering wheel, throttle levers, Cummins engine controls, and joystick.
A private staircase opposite the galley provides separate entry to the private full-beam owner’s suite, one of the signature features of Prestige yachts. Big hull windows ensure a bright, airy atmosphere, spotlighting the big platform bed and two built-in sofa sections with a table that doubles as a vanity area. An ensuite bathroom with separate shower and a walk-in closet provides all the comforts of home.
The VIP and third guest cabin are accessed via a companionway near the helm. At the bow, the VIP suite transforms from a double bed to two twins. Like the owner’s suite, this cabin benefits from two hull windows to port and starboard. An ensuite bathroom with separate shower and sink is sure to please any guest. Abaft and to port of the VIP is a third cabin with twin beds with an ensuite bathroom, although some owners choose to use the ensuite space for their own walk-in closet.
Standard dual 600hp Cummins 8.3 QSC diesel engines with Zeus pod drives equip the 550S with power to reach top speeds of 30 knots and a 24-knot cruising speed with a range of 240nm.
