The Pershing 52 is a 54-foot express cruiser launched by the Ferretti-owned Italian yacht-building firm Pershing back in 2001. A real blend of beauty and beast, this is a yacht that looks refined and sharp from profile but proves to be a high-speed monster when performing out at sea. Powerful MAN engines and a proprietary deep-V fiberglass hull with double chines produce superb balance and thrilling acceleration, while Pershing’s signature attention to detail delivers living spaces that are both stylish and comfortable.
A pair of white leather sunpads bookend the main deck of the Pershing 52, with a double width sunpad out on the foredeck matched by a full-length sunpad with headrests by the transom. At the stern end of the boat, you will find a passarelle and an extra-long, full-beam, teak-lined bathing platform that is ideal for warm-water swimming and sturdy enough to be used for jet tender storage. There is also a transom garage back here that can be used to keep your tender, though some owners choose to fit this out as a single crew quarters. The main-deck cockpit on this model is lined with a curvaceous roof, double-height cresting wave windows to the sides and a fully open aspect to the rear for a breezy and elemental feel while indoors. There is a U-shaped sofa paired with a cocktail table to port as well as a fully-equipped wet-bar station to starboard with a grill, chilled storage, a sink and an icemaker. Up top you will find a pair of comfortable helm seats facing a dashboard with thruster controls, Raymarine electronics, autopilot, compasses and VHF radio.
Thanks to the engines being located far aft there is extra space across the lower deck for three cabins and six overnight guests. A pair of snug twin rooms to the rear are joined by a double stateroom to the bow with a skylight, an island bed, a hanging locker and an en-suite bathroom with a circular shower stall. The spacious dinette and galley down here impresses with warm cherrywood paneling, plush carpeting, leather furnishings and oval portholes. The kitchen boasts a microwave, a hob, a fridge-freezer unit and a stainless-steel sink, while the dining lounge features a broad, U-shaped sofa with an extending timber dining table. There is also room on this level for a day-head with a shower, highlighting Pershing’s masterful use of space across the lower-deck.
A pair of 1050MHP MAN diesel engines coupled with Arneson surface drives produce best-in-class top speeds of over 50 knots, with cruising speeds hitting the 42-knot mark.
