The Pershing 46 is a 49-foot performance cruiser yacht that was launched by the Ferretti-owned, Italian yacht-building firm Pershing back in 2005. With a striking white gelcoat, a sleek, aerodynamic form, a sculpted, carbon-fiber hard-top and a dynamic open aspect to the rear, this is certainly one of the most aesthetically pleasing Pershings ever put to water. Winner of the 2005 prize for “Croatian Boat of the Year” in its class, this sporty model was tailor-made for warm-weather coastal cruising, giving owners the very best in both performance and comfort.
Across the foredeck there is a modular sunpad where up to three guests can luxuriate in the sun for hours on end while gazing out across the bow. A finely curved carbon-fiber hard-top roof over the cockpit features double-height cresting wave glazing to the sides and an above-helm sunroof for plenty of natural light, while to the rear this structure opens up like a shell for a breezy, elemental feel. A full-width, white upholstered sunpad for up to four guests takes advantage of this al-fresco space, offering views out across the stern. The sunpad is enclosed at the rear by stainless steel guardrails and connects to an extending passarelle, while side steps to starboard lead down to a full-beam, teak-lined bathing platform that is large enough to act as a tender storage facility.
In the cockpit itself you will discover a vibrant entertaining space with recessed lighting, white leather furnishings and teak decking. A U-shaped sofa to port surrounds an extending cocktail table that can also be used for dinner service, while to starboard there is a molded wet-bar station with an ice-chipper, a grill and chilled storage. The starboard helm station, meanwhile, features thruster controls, Shipmate VHF, a joystick, Raymarine or Garmin display screens and superb visibility.
A roomy beam of over 13 feet allows this yacht to fit in up to three lower-deck cabins for up to six overnight guests. An amidship twin features a pair of oval portholes, while a master stateroom to the bow boasts a double bed, a skylight, a side locker and plenty of hidden storage. There is also optional space to the transom for a twin with its own head that can be used by crew or guests alike. The first thing you will see after heading below-deck, however, an open galley and dinette lounge with cherrywood and leather surfaces, a C-shaped sofa with a timber dining table and a kitchen with a two-zone hob, a fridge and an optional cooker. There are also a pair of heads on this level, one featuring a circular shower stall, a rarity on a yacht of this class.
A pair of 800MHP Man R6 diesel inboard engines offer top speeds of up to 40 knots, while at a consistent cruising speed of 35 knots you can expect a horizon-busting range of 235 nautical miles.
