The Pershing 37 is a 38-foot open sports cruiser boat that was originally launched by the Ferretti-owned Italian yacht-building brand Pershing back in 2000. The perfect entry-level yacht for owner-operators who love to carve their way through the waves at high-speed, this super-sleek yacht boasts decidedly retro looks paired with high-powered performance and a surprising amount of on-deck relaxation space. Instantly recognizable at profile due to this yacht’s forward leaning radar arch, a sloped transom and a sharp bow, this boat remains hugely popular on the used and charter markets to this day.
High stainless-steel guardrails out on the lengthy foredeck enable this area to be used as an impromptu lounge space by guests, though more comfortable relaxation room is to be found at the opposite end of the boat, where a double-width leather sunpad sits by the stern. This sunpad is located directly above a full-beam, elongated swimming platform to transom that is bound to prove popular with those who enjoy warm-water bathing in the sea. In the open cockpit, meanwhile, you will find an L-shaped leather sofa with a pop-up table and a wet-bar console with chilled storage, a sink and an outdoor grill, making this a great place to entertain with mixed drinks.
A pair of forward-facing helm seats at the front of the cockpit face a port-side helm station and wrap-around glazing, while the dashboard features a Raymarine or Garmin chart plotter, Shipmate VHF, GPS, auto-pilot, plenty of analogue instrumentation including compasses, a set of mounted throttle controls and optional joystick maneuvering. The entire cockpit area is lined either in non-slip fiberglass or authentic teak and can be covered by a manual Bimini roof should you require protection from the midday sun.
This is a vessel that truly transcends its day-boat limitations by providing plenty of spacious lower-deck accommodation lined in cherry wood with off-white leather surfaces, carpeted floors and oval portholes. A u-shaped sofa with a dining table on this level connects to a mini-dinette with a hob, a microwave, an optional gas cooker and a below-counter fridge, all of which can be hidden away when not in use. There is also space down here for a hanging locker, cabinetry, a head with an open shower nozzle and a ceramic sink, a cocoon-style rest space to the bow and a comfortable double bed to aft.
One of the driest rides around, this hyper-nimble yacht performs well across both coastal and inland bodies of water, with a top speed of 37 knots and consistent cruising at 33 knots achieved thanks to a pair of Yanmar or CAT diesel shaft-drive engines.
