The Lazzara LPC 70 is a 70-foot luxury catamaran that the Florida-based yacht-building firm Lazzara Yachts is due to launch in 2023. The first ever catamaran to be built by Lazzara, this dual-hulled vessel offers the sort of expansive, open plan living space that is usually the preserve of much larger vessels thanks to its astonishing 27-foot beam. An ultra-modern look from profile, minimalist contemporary interiors and two well-balanced hulls give this yacht a futuristic feel, while powerful Penta engines and a high-class finish throughout look set it make it an instant classic.
The teak-lined main-deck offers sublime space for relaxation or entertainment from bow to stern, with a foredeck lounge at the front of the boat offering expansive views out across the water. Out here you will discover a modular, forward-facing sofa in cool white leather that can host up to six guests, facing an extending teak table that can be used for cocktails, coffee or dining. Broad side-decks lead back to an elevated aft-cockpit with a pair of double-width sunpads and a U-shaped transom sofa with backrests and an optional table. Curving side steps sweep you down to a lower-level that sits just above the waterline, where you can easily store jet-skis, water tenders and even a speedboat, though many owners will choose to turn this into a beach club. A hydraulic swimming platform that can lower you into the water is joined by space for four sun-loungers, a pair of stern-facing sofas, twin armchairs, marble-topped coffee tables and an integrated wet-bar station with an outdoor grill and all the facilities needed to mix up your favorite summertime cocktails.
The main deck salon is covered by a subtly vaulted fiberglass roof that seems to defy gravity by floating above floor-to-ceiling windows, with sliding glass doors to the rear and both sides. A stunning bespoke leather conversation sofa hugs a marble-topped coffee table, while a set of four armchairs, a day-head, modern cabinets and a formal dining table for up to eight round out this scintillating and breezy space. At the front of the salon there is a partially sunken galley with stone counters, a six-zone hob, a convection oven, a large ceramic sink and plenty of storage, while the main helm sits to starboard and will be fitted with all the latest, cutting-edge navigational equipment.
Most catamarans have two distinct lower-deck living spaces in each hull, but this vessel’s unique patent-pending hull manages to combine the separate hulls into one, with a central portion that floats just inches above the waterline to open up room for much larger cabins on this level. There is an overnight capacity of ten guests across five sedate and luxurious en-suite bedrooms, with a pair of crew cabins located towards the twin bows. Each room benefits from plush carpeting, waterfall shower stalls and ample storage, while the full-beam owner’s stateroom to aft boasts a king-sized bed, a living room with a sofa and a semi-open en-suite lined in decadent marble.
The Lazzara LPC 70 is powered by a pair of 1000mhp Volvo Penta D13 shaft-drive diesel engines for maximum speeds of around 23 knots and smooth cruising speeds of 18 knots, while a fuel capacity of 1,200 US gallons is perfectly suited for the long-haul adventurer.
