The Lazzara UHV 87 is an 87-foot triple-deck luxury expedition yacht that was launched by the iconic Florida-based yacht-building firm Lazzara Yachts in 2021. This ultra-high-volume model combines a vertiginous profile, a full-length upper deck, dynamic glazing and some of the most stylish and expansive living spaces ever seen on a yacht of this size to set new standards for capacity and luxury in the trawler-class. A double-height sharp bow, a category A hull and a set of powerful engines ensure that this vessel is a supremely confident performer out on the open ocean, making it a genuine option for live-aboard owners who wish to enjoy long-distance cruising. This yacht made quite a splash upon launch, winning the title for Boat of the Year in its class at the 2022 International Yacht & Aviation Awards held in Venice, Italy.
Not one but three distinct rooftop lounges await on the sky deck, where a sultry bow lounge occupies the foredeck and offers guests room for a low-slung U-shaped sofa, a pair of teak-lined coffee tables and the option for either a jacuzzi spa-pool or a quadruple width modular sunpad. Head to the very rear of the bridge and you will discover space for a formal dining table, as well as room for a side sofa and outdoor storage. Sliding glass doors lead into an enclosed upper lounge with pale oak floors, dark timber cabinets, gold and bronze trim, accent lighting, floor to ceiling windows, marbled countertops and walls lined in cushioned leather. A U-shaped leather sofa surrounds a bespoke coffee table, faces a wall-mounted widescreen UHD TV and sits alongside a poker table, while to starboard there is a walk-in wet-bar with glass cabinets as well as a day-head. Further forward you will find the pilothouse, a sedate room with reverse-angled windscreen glazing, a piloting chair and a ship-style helm station with joystick piloting, thruster controls and four Garmin display screens with integrated navigational equipment.
An entirely sheltered aft-cockpit one level down features a transom sofa, a dining table, integrated speakers and side steps down to a full-beam, washed teak bathing platform with a transom garage that doubles as a water-level beach-club. Tinted sliding glass doors lead into one of the most opulent main deck salons ever seen on a yacht of this class, with floor to ceiling glazing, gold-accents, mirrored walls, marble surfaces and extravagant chandeliers framing a space with a huge L-shaped sofa, an art-deco bar, a room divider with a pop-up UHD TV and a formal dining table for up to eight. The main galley sits on this level to port, and boasts country-kitchen dimensions, dark granite or Corian work surfaces, an exotic wood backsplash, a steel sink, an industrial-sized Miele fridge, a pair of ovens, a wine cooler and a four-zone cooktop. There is also a full-beam forward master cabin on this deck, featuring full-height French cabinets, a king-sized island bed, a vanity unit, a side sofa, plush carpeting, strip windows, etched wall panels and a bathroom lined in veined marble with two sinks and a waterfall shower.
There is room across the lower deck for three more en suite cabins, with a VIP room to the bow featuring a walk-in dressing room, a king-sized bed, full-height lockers and dynamic hull glazing. The other two rooms both have plenty of storage and space to breathe, while a crew quarters for up to two sits to the stern of the yacht and is accessed via the transom garage.
Twin 1000mhp Volvo D13 diesel engines prompt top speeds of around 16 knots, a major achievement for a vessel of this heft. At cruising speeds of 12 knots, meanwhile, you can expect a cruising range of approximately 2,000 nautical miles before you will need to refuel this fully displacement yacht.
